MLB Fantasy: Waiver Wire Additions Week Two
MLB Fantasy: Have you Added Aaron Judge yet?
In last week’s article of MLB Fantasy: Waiver Wire Additions, I advised you to pick up Aaron Judge off of the waiver wire and boy do I hope you followed that advice. Judge went yard on Sunday and on Monday, and is now hitting .261 with a .320 on-base percentage and a .565 slugging percentage.
With Gary Sanchez injured and supposed to miss around four weeks with a Grade 1 biceps strain, the pressure will be put on Judge even more than before to produce runs for the New York Yankees lineup. If Judge is still available in your league, do yourself a favor and give him a chance for your fantasy team.
Here are some guys you should take a gander at adding to your team to help win your Week Two fantasy baseball matchups…
MLB Fantasy – Waiver Wire Adds – Corey Dickerson
As a member of the Colorado Rockies for three seasons, Dickerson had a .299 batting average, 63 home runs and 198 RBI over 265 games. Last season, in his first year with the Tampa Bay Rays, he hit .250 and his power numbers did not diminish, as he hit 24 long balls to go along with 70 RBI.
Dickerson has raced out to a terrific start to the 2017 season as he has a .310 batting average with two home runs and four RBI through his first eight games.
Tampa Bay has some favorable match-ups with two more games at Yankee Stadium and then a four-game set with the Red Sox at Fenway Park over the weekend. There will be plenty of opportunities for high-scoring games in those match-ups, as the ball flies at both of those parks.
Dickerson would be a terrific pickup for those in leagues with five OF spots, but even in leagues with three OF spots he could be worth the pickup while he is on a hot streak.

MLB Fantasy – Waiver Wire Adds – Travis Shaw
Each season it seems like Shaw jumps out to a terrific start, but then mellows down to his normal hitting patterns around game No. 80. According to my calculations, you have a month or so to ride the wave with Shaw.
Having 1B and 3B eligibility is huge for him, as that allows more owners to plug-and-play him in their lineups. It also allows the Milwaukee Brewers to keep his bat in the heart of their lineup on a daily basis.
So far this season, in Shaw’s first year with the Brew Crew, he is hitting .280 with a .379 OBP and a .600 SLG. He has yanked one home run and driven in six runs through his first 25 at-bats. While that’s not an exceptionally great start, it’s most definitely serviceable, and his flexibility at multiple positions makes him worthy of a roster spot in most leagues.
The Brewers have favorable match-ups for the remainder of Week Two with two more road games against the Blue Jays and then a four-game weekend series in Cincinnati against the Reds. Lots of run potential in those games, so Shaw is a must-add.

MLB Fantasy – Waiver Wire Adds – Manuel Margot
Margot was the key return the Padres received in the trade that sent former San Diego closer Craig Kimbrel to the Boston Red Sox. He appeared in 10 games last season and did not impress at the dish, but he did manage to swipe two bags in his short stint with the Padres.
This season has been different however, as he has raced out to a stellar .323 batting average, to go along with a .382 OBP and a .613 SLG in his first 10 games. Both of his home runs on the season came in the same game last Friday against the San Francisco Giants. Additionally, he has also tacked on a stolen base to his stat line in the early goings of the season.
A recipe for success is always derived from a series at the hitter-friendly Coors Field. That’s where Margot will play his next two games before heading to Atlanta for three games.

MLB Fantasy – Waiver Wire Adds – Chris Owings
Owings has always shown the potential for a breakout season, and playing half of your games at Chase Field will definitely help elevate your offensive numbers from the dish.

He has already improved not only his common stats, but also has enhanced his numbers in terms of line drive rate, as well as walk rate. His middle infield eligibility, paired with his ability to play in an OF spot on your fantasy team has allowed more owners to test the waters with the 25-year-old Diamondback.
In six games this season, Owings has stolen four bases and carries a .360/.407/.520 slash line. He has cleared the fences once, and has plated five of his teammates, while scoring four runs of his own.
He is most likely worth a flyer if you’re playing in a 12-team league, but possibly even 10-team leagues at this rate. His ownership percentages will continue to rise if he maintains the rate he’s hitting (and stealing bases) at.
