The money line in the big tournament last night sat at 131.95, which is a pretty high score. However, there was a lot of offense tonight. Runs were at a premium during the day Not so at night. The winning lineup had an astounding 266.75 DraftKings points. They benefitted from the Mets playing Home Run Derby at Citizens Bank Park and a stellar performance from Robbie Ray.
NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.

Next: DraftKings Late Lineup 1

P: John Lackey ($9,900): Lackey has pitched very well against the current Dodgers in his career. The Dodgers are hitting just .225 against him in 89 at bats with just three extra base hits, no homers, only five runs, and 18 strikeouts. Lackey wont rack up the strikeouts tonight, but his chances of getting the better of the Dodgers look very good.
P: Steven Wright ($7,600): The Orioles couldn’t manage much of anything against Wright last year. The current roster is just 9-64(.141) against Wright with only one home run and jus four runs. They also struck out 13 times! Wright seems cheap at that price, but the Orioles are still a loaded lineup. Can Wright shut them down again this year?
C: Brian McCann ($3,300): McCann is only 7-27(.259) against Yovani Gallardo, but he has walked six times, doubled twice, homered, and driven in four runs against Gallardo. McCann provides more salary relief if you are planning on paying for big sticks.
1B: Travis Shaw ($3,300): Shaw is very familiar with Marcus Stroman from his time with the Red Sox last year. In fact, he is very happy to be seeing Stroman again. Shaw is 5-10 with two walks, two doubles, a homer, and three RBI against Stroman. Shaw is a great cheap play tonight!
2B: Robinson Cano ($4,400): Cano has three hits in nine tries against Mike Fiers with a walk, a double, two homers, and four RBI. Fiers pitched pretty well in his first outing, but it’s hard to just ignore what the Mariners have done to him over the years.
3B: Kyle Seager ($4,100): Seager is 4-9 with a double, a homer, and two RBI against Mike Fiers. Fiers has not pitched well at all in his career against the current Seattle lineup. Safeco Field is a tough place to hit, but with this kind of history, a Mariners stack may be in order.
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera ($3,800): Cabrera torches the Phillies. All you have to do is look at last night’s line. Four hits in six at bats with three runs scored, a double, a homer, and two RBI. I would temper expectations against Vince Velasquez, but Cabrera loves Citizens Bank Park.
OF: Jason Heyward ($3,500): Heyward is off to a solid start this year, which is welcomed after how he wound up last year for the Cubs. They will take solid. It’s a small sample size, but Heyward is 2-3 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI against Brandon McCarthy. If you need the salary relief, Heyward is worth a shot at this price.
OF: Mike Trout ($5,400): Trout is a below average (for him) 5-19(.263) against A.J. Griffin, but when he has hit Griffin, it has been hard. Trout has four walks, two homers, and three RBI against Griffin in his career.
OF: Giancarlo Stanton ($4,700): Stanton is 5-8 with three walks, a double, a homer, and two driven in against Jaime Garcia. That is an awful lot of crooked numbers. The rest of the team doesn’t really hit Garcia well, but Stanton is still worth a play chasing homers.
