DraftKings Late MLB Picks For April 15
There are only five evening games tonight as most team are in action for the matinee games. That doesn’t mean that we have bottom of the barrel options though. There are still four pitchers priced at or near ace level. Who is worth paying for? Where are the bargains? Let’s check out those past stats!

The money line was at 114.8 last night. One of my linueps made it comfortably. The other missed largely because of the failed stack against Martin Perez.
The winning lineup was back up at 198.5 points thanks to Danny Duffy and Clayton Kershaw along with a Rays stack against the reigning A.L. Cy Young Award Winner. Yeah, that surprised me too.
NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players. Check out this post from Matt McGarvey for great tips about whether to use a hot player in DFS or not.

P: Kenta Maeda ($10,000): Maeda had a propensity for running up his pitch counts last season. He has struggled to start this year, but the Diamondbacks are only hitting .192 against Maeda in 78 at bats with only one home run. The Snakes have plated eight, but have struck out 18 times. The high strikeout potential and facing off against Patrick Corbin bode well for Maeda being worth money.
P: Adam Conley ($6,900): Yeah, so now you think I’ve officially lost it. Conley over mound opponent Jacob deGrom? Hear me out. The Marlins are hitting a robust .310 with three homers and 16 runs against deGrom in 155 at bats. Conley has held the Mets to a .211 average in 95 at bats with two homers and only four runs. On top of that, Conley has 25 strikeouts! I’ll play the odds and fade deGrom, but it wont be a popular decision.
C: Salvador Perez ($3,500): Perez has abused Matt Shoemaker even more than the two other teams that beat him up to start the year. Perez is 7-11(.636) with two doubles, a homer, and two RBI against Shoemaker. Shoemaker was able to settle down as 2016 went on. He may have to do the same this year if his slow start continues.
1B: Albert Pujols ($4,500): Pujols is 4-9 with a walk, a double, a homer, and a pair of RBI against Nathan Karns. Pujols could have a hard time hitting one out in spacious Safeco Field, but I will go with the wisdom of past stats.
2B: Brandon Phillips ($3,800): Phillips is 5-17(.294) with three walks, a homer, and two RBI against Clayton Richard. Richard pitched well in the opener, but struggled last week against the Giants. The Braves looked pretty good in their new home last night. Will it continue against Richard? History says it will.
3B: Jake Lamb ($3,900): Despite Arizona’s all around bad numbers against Maeda, Lamb has had his licks. Lamb is 7-15(.467) with a walk, three doubles, a homer, and four RBI in his career against Kenta Maeda. If you take his stats out, the Diamondbacks are just 8-63(.127) with no homers, four runs, and 17 strikeouts. Maybe he should just walk Lamb every time….
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera ($4,000): Cabrera is 4-11 with two walks and a double against Adam Conley. The main reason I have him in here is because Cabrera has been hot lately. It’s worth a shot!
OF: Giancarlo Stanton ($4,800): Stanton has destroyed Jacob deGrom in his career. Giancarlo is 7-15(.467) with three walks, a double, three homers, and five RBI against deGrom. Stanton could have a big game again.
OF: Lorenzo Cain ($4,300): Cain is four for six with a double, a triple, and two RBI already against Matt Shoemaker. The Royals have started to put some runs on the board lately. I doubt that changes tonight.
OF: Yasiel Puig ($4,200): Puig started fast in the opening series, but he has gone a little cold since then. He could get back on track against Patrick Corbin. Puig is 5-16(.313) with two doubles, a homer, and four RBI against Corbin in his career.
