The NFL Schedule for the 2017 season is about to release in a few hours, but there some reports on the big matchups. According to ESPN’s Adam Caplan, the Packers will host the Seahawks in their season opener.

The Green Bay Packers will host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan.

The Packers played the Seahawks once this past season, in a late Sunday afternoon matchup. Green Bay poured it on Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, winning 38-10.

This was the infamous game that Wilson threw five interceptions, and Aaron Rodgers made him pay for every one of them.

The Packers lead the all-time series, 12-8 against the Seahawks, winning the last two at Lambeau Field. The home team in this series has also won the last six games in this series.

This matchup should garner a lot of the headlines in Week 1, featuring two of the top quarterbacks in the league in Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson.

It’ll be the first time in green and yellow for some of the Packers’ new free-agent additions, such as tight ends Martellus Bennett and Lance Kendricks.

The Packers are looking to rebound from their NFC Championship game debacle at Atlanta.

The Seahawks come into the season with a familiar bunch and look to rebound from their Divisional Round loss at Atlanta. Another fascinating storyline to watch will be how the Richard Sherman drama unfolds.

The first week of the NFL regular season is shaping up to be excellent. The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are opening up the campaign on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium, while the Sunday Night Football affair is the Dallas Cowboys hosting the New York Giants.
