MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel April 21st
I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.
Tonight’s slate features 15 games, with Los Angeles (5.2), San Francisco (5.2), Chicago (5), and Colorado (4.9), holding the best projected team totals. With four pitchers priced above $10,000 on DraftKings, finding value will be critical to success tonight. Here are a handful of value plays of both DraftKings and FanDuel.
DraftKings MLB Values

Justin Turner – LAD (3B) – $3700
Justin Turner was hit by a pitch on Tuesday and was forced to miss Wednesday’s game with a hand injury. If Turner is healthy enough to play tonight, he’ll provide value at this price. Enrique Hernandez led off in the absence of Turner, however, facing a righty tonight, I wouldn’t expect that same substitution. Keep an eye on Turner’s health because if he were to miss another game, whoever fills his role could provide value.
Josh Reddick – OAK (OF) – $3300
Josh Reddick has some of the most drastic splits on the slate and should provide value given how DraftKing’s prices players. Riddick holds a .379 wOBA split and a .155 ISO split. Reddick also holds one of the lowest strike out rates on the slate, at .138 strikeouts per at bat. With Houston on the road and Reddick batting second, he has a chance of seeing extra plate appearances.
FanDuel MLB Values:

Corey Seager – LAD (SS) – $3500
The Dodgers have one of the best projected team totals of 5.2 runs, and Corey Seager should be a beneficiary. Seager will face a righty, where he holds an impressive .412 and wOBA split and a .234 ISO split.

Nearly all of Seager’s batted ball stats are up as of late. In his last 15 days, his average distance is up 8 feet, his hard hit percentage is up 8%, and his exit velocity is up 2 MPH.
Denard Span – SF (OF) – $3500
San Francisco hitters will have the luxury of taking a trip to Coors Field and should be a good bet to score a few runs. Denard Span will lead off for the Giants and while he’s struggled of late, a game in Denver can be a “get well” spot for any hitter. Span will benefit from facing a righty, where he holds a .327 wOBA split.
