MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel April 25th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s slate features 14 games, with Washington (5.7), Colorado (5.4), and Arizona (5.2), holding the best projected team totals. If you’re considering rostering Clayton Kershaw at an unreal, $14,300 on DraftKings, finding value will be critical to success. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings MLB Values:

Mitch Haniger – SEA (OF) – $3400

If you’re in need of salary relief, consider Mitch Haniger, who is priced down at only $3400. Haniger is one of the best bargains in terms of pricing relative to FanDuel. Haniger should benefit from batting second and facing a righty tonight. While Haniger is also a righty, he has had success in the split, with a .368 wOBA and .213 ISO split.

Eric Thames – MIL (1B) – $4200

There’s not much analysis to be done here. The Eric Thames flow chart looks something like this. Is Thames playing? If yes, play him.

What Thames is doing is quite incredible when thinking back to how he performed in the league just a few years ago. The working theory, outside of speculative performance enhancers, is that when Thames spent time playing in Korea, he was exposed to more off speed pitches. This may be one reason why his plate discipline has been so sharp. Either way, Thames will get a righty tonight and while the Brewers don’t have the best projected team total, Thames is considerably cheaper on DK than FD.

FanDuel MLB Values:

Daniel Murphy – WSH (2B) – $4400

Washington will benefit from playing in Coors Field tonight and they currently hold the best projected team total at 5.7 runs. While there’s no doubt that they’ll be highly owned, the Nats’ batters are, as a whole, are underpriced on FanDuel relative to DraftKings.

More from FanSided

Daniel Murphy stands out as the most underpriced at only $4400. Murphy will draw a favorable match-up against a righty, where he holds a .408 wOBA split and a .253 ISO split.

Brian Dozier – MIN (2B) – $3500

Brian Dozier makes for an excellent pivot if you believe that Washington batters like Daniel Murphy will be highly owned. Minnesota has a decent team total of 4.7 runs, and Doziers’ recent batted ball stats would indicate that he may be trending in the right direction. In the last 15 days, Dozier’s average distance is up 14 feet, his hard hit percentage is up 10%, and his exit velocity is up 3 MPH. We’ll have to check on the wind closer to lock, but Dozier should also benefit from an 86 degree night in Texas.

Seth Smith – BAL (OF) – $2600

Seth Smith is an attractive punt play tonight as he should leadoff for the Orioles, who have a team total of 4.5 runs. Smith has produced so far this year and should again tonight, against the righty, Erasmo Ramirez. Smith has drastic splits against righties, with a .335 wOBA and a .186 ISO split.

Best of luck!
