DraftKings EPL Daily Fantasy Picks – April 26
By David Gate
Welcome back to our DraftKings EPL column! We are here to bring you the best tips, analysis picks and lineups to cash in Premier League DFS on DraftKings!
There is a three game slate today on DraftKings that includes Tottenham chasing for the title, a potential shootout in London and the Northwest Derby. There is high stakes in all three games meaning there will be plenty of DraftKings DFS points to go around.
Teams release their lineups an hour before kick off – which is at 1:45-2:00pm ET. It is paramount you check these team sheets before you complete your lineup. The DFS sites won’t list designations as accurately as they do for NFL or NBA sports as a player could be on the bench. I will list changes to my DFS lineups on Twitter at @DavidGateSports and @FantasyCPR
The best EPL DFS lineups have 3x value to $1k of DraftKings soccer budget. These lineups are for GPP play and not cash. Because of the scoring in soccer DFS that means chasing goals and assists wherever you can find them. It often means looking in places where others won’t rather than just load up with the highest priced strikers on the slate. There is also an article for FanDuel here.
DraftKings EPL Goalkeepers
With Chelsea winning last night the pressure is on Tottenham to keep pace in the title race. I think they will be locked in today and ready to dominate. Palace have been through a tough run of games but have grinded out some amazing results. However they have managed only a few shots on target and have relied on set pieces. Tottenham are far better at defending those than Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea. I think Hugo Lloris (5800) is a near lock to pickup the clean sheet and win bonus today.
The other keeper I like on DraftKings today is Jordan Pickford (4200). Sunderland allow a lot of shots and Pickford makes a lot of saves. That is so important on DraftKings as it is on FanDuel but he has the added bonus today of playing Middlesbrough. They have no idea how to score so both the clean sheet and win bonus are both in play for him today. I think there will be goals in this game so I would only use him if you’re desperate to use the cash elsewhere. Otherwise lock in Lloris.
DraftKings EPL Defenders
I am going to double down on Tottenham’s clean sheet bonus by having Ben Davies (4900) as well. Davies was left out on Saturday as Spurs went with Son at left-wing back but I expect them to play 442 today with Davies back in at left back. Tottenham should have most of the possession and get both of their full backs involved. I may upgrade Davies to Kieran Trippier (5300) if he starts ahead of Kyle Walker.
I am always keen to play left backs against Arsenal as Bellerin gets forward so much it leaves gaps for opposition left backs to attack on the break. Christian Fuchs (4700) is as safe a bet as any EPL defender on DraftKings to get both attacking and defending stats. In a matchup I like against Arsenal who played 120 mins on Sunday I will be starting the Leicester man.
DraftKings EPL Midfielders
The stats say that Middlesbrough v Sunderland should be a dud. Every DFS report I’ve read is recommending to stay away from this game. But I think there is a great opportunity here. It is a night game, a local rivalry and the loser is probably relegated. It may be a low quality game but it won’t be a boring game. There will be lots of tackles, fouls and shots on goal. With most people fading this game I think it is a great opportunity in GPP play.

I am using the most attacking midfielders on either team and stacking them with their best forwards to find GPP separation where everyone else will be going with the Spurs and Arsenal chalk plays. Stewart Downing (6500) is actually a pretty safe play today. Gaston Ramirez is missing so Downing should get a usage bump and take the bulk of the team’s creative onus. In his last game Wahbi Khazri (4800) went off for 24 DraftKings points. He was their best player against West Ham and should be the focus of the Sunderland attack against a vulnerable Boro defense.
If you are looking for a pivot Spurs midfielder I would go for Moussa Dembele (3400) who at a bargain price could see an assist or goal if Palace succeed in frustrating Alli and Eriksen.
DraftKings EPL Forwards
Even though he will be super chalk (50-60%) I will still go with Harry Kane (10500). His form and matchup make it very difficult to fade him. I am using the other 4 attacking spots to gain my separation so I’m happy to have one chalk play.
As part of my Boro/Sunderland stack I will be using Alvaro Negredo (6500) and Jermain Defoe (6100). Negredo has found the net a couple of times in the last few weeks and remain Boro’s best goal scoring threat. Defoe’s price has sunk because he has not scored in eight EPL games. However he does have 14 for the season and is in a great spot this week. If you want to fade this game then I would look to either Walcott (8600) or Welbeck (6300) to find good value and lower ownership.
DraftKings EPL Lineup – Wednesday 26 April 2017
I have gone for a Tottenham base with Harry Kane as my chalk play. The GPP separation I want is from a Boro/Sunderland attacking stack.
GK: Lloris – Tottenham
DEF: Davies – Tottenham
DEF: Fuchs – Leicester
MID: Downing – Middlesbrough
MlD: Khazri – Sunderland
FWD: Kane – Tottenham
FWD: Negredo – Middlesbrough
UTIL: Defoe – Sunderland
