3. Drop the bench

Finally, the Timberwolves have injected some life in what was the worst bench unit in the league when it comes to NBA Efficiency. With potential new acquisitions from the draft, the roster could take shape and look something like this:

Starters: Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Gorgui Deng
Bench: Tyus Jones, Arron Afflalo, Malik Monk, D.J. Wilson, Nemanja Bjelica, Cole Aldrich

Decisions would then need to be made on Brandon Rush, Omri Casspi, Jordan Hill, Shabazz Muhammad, Adreian Payne, Nikola Peković*. Two spots remain on the roster and to be honest, none of these guys should be coming back. Yes, Shabazz Muhammad was the leading scorer off of the bench last year but he put up 9.9 and 2.8 last year, giving you an idea of just how bad this second unit really was.

It is time to leave these guys with the bad memories of the 2016-17 season and start working on the next point of the to-do list.

*The Timberwolves will be pursuing medical retirement for Nikola Peković as he has dealt with chronic ankle injuries over the course of his six-year career and is prepared to retire.
