LeBron James saves Norman Powell from illegal substitution in Game 3 (Video)
While the Cavaliers and LeBron James have gotten a bad rep for how they’ve acted against the Raptors, The King showed he’s still there to help out his opponents.
Between all of the crazy moments LeBron James has been a part of in the Cavaliers’ Eastern Conference semifinals against the Toronto Raptors, not many would expect him to do some good in the middle of the game for his opponents.
While many focused on King James shooting left-handed shots late in Game 3 as the Cavs blew out the Raptors, LeBron actually prevented Norman Powell from a small mistake late in the game.
James can be seen preventing Powell from heading to the bench by grabbing his jersey from behind, without any bad intentions, as he attempts to save the forward from an illegal substitution.
James had himself quite the night overall in Game 3, as he shot both right-handed and left-handed, tallied 35 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and even offered Drake some margaritas after the game ended.
It seems like a new King James moment has popped up throughout each of the first three games of the conference semifinals, starting with LeBron’s beer break late in Game 1. It continued as he spun a ball right in Serge Ibaka’s face in Game 2, and ruthlessly drilled a 3 right in the Raptors forward’s face. Powell wasn’t pleased with that move, but may have to forgive the King for his late-game save.

The Cavaliers are running away with this series, so they can obviously afford to have a little fun at the expense of their opponents from The Six. However, at least James was nice enough to help out Powell in the midst of another blowout in Game 3. Maybe next game Cleveland can do another good deed and spot the Raptors 20 points to give them a solid chance to avoid the sweep.
