Leon Draisaitl is playing the part of hat trick hero in Game 6 against the Anaheim Ducks. His three goals are helping the Edmonton Oilers force Game 7 in fantastic fashion.

Leon Draisaitl scored the first two goals of the game to quickly put Edmonton up 2-0 in Game 6. The Oilers took that momentum and rolled with it, going into the first intermission up by a resounding five goals. Draisaitl was also able to add an assist on the fifth goal of the night.

Draisaitl continued his historic night in the second period, assisting the Oilers sixth goal of the night to put them up 6-0. He capped of his hat trick with 4:33 left in the second period.

The first goal that Draisaitl scored on the net was an interesting one, to say the least. He was hooked on an odd-man rush, causing him to fan on the shot as the puck snuck through the five hole of Anaheim goaltender John Gibson.

The second goal of the night for Draisaitl put the Oilers up 2-0. Draisaitl collects the puck in front of net, avoids getting the puck poked of his stick, spins around and puts a nifty little backhand past Gibson.

The third goal shows off the calmness and confidence the Oilers are experiencing in this blow out in Game 6. The puck is skated into the zone, passed off to Draisaitl, he passes it off to receive it back almost immediately and snaps one home with a nice crisp wrist shot to finish off the hat trick before the second period was even over.

Next: NHL mock draft: Nolan Patrick or Nico Hischier

Draisaitl is also the first Oilers player to score a hat trick since April 18th, 2000 when Bill Guerin completed the feat. Draisaitl is also the second youngest Oilers player to ever score a playoff hat trick, with Wayne Gretzky holding that record. On top of all that, he is now one of five Oilers players in franchise history to have five-plus playoff points in a single game. A historic night, to say the least, for Draisaitl.
