Matt Harvey reportedly missed curfew Friday because he was out on the town drinking his sorrows away over model Adriana Lima.

The Matt Harvey saga in New York continues this week as reports come out that he was moping around when he stayed out past curfew last Friday night because his heart was shattered by Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima.

The story goes that while the Mets were in Atlanta early last week Lima went to a Met Gala afterparty with ex-boyfriend, Julian Edelman. Later Edelman and Lima were seen at club 1Oak.

This information apparently sent Harvey into a broken-hearted spiral of self loathe. He pulled an all-nighter and just didn’t show up to work on Saturday. The Mets then sent people to his home to check on him.

After a three-day suspension for his actions, he showed up and profusely apologized for his actions in an interview where he said the word sorry 14 times and embarrassed five times.

To put this simply, Edelman is going to beat Harvey in a competition for girls 10 times out of 10. The guy is a Super Bowl hero. He made one of the best catches in Super Bowl history and he is one Tom Brady’s best friends.

Remember this, Lima and Edelman reportedly broke up because Edelman refused to have kids with her. Yet she still went back to him over staying with Harvey who has openly said that he is willing to settle down. If that’s not a “shes just not that into you bro”…I don’t know what is.

My advice to you, Matt, stop going after girls that you have to compete with NFL players for. No matter how good you are in MLB you are never going to be as popular as an Edelman-like talent in the NFL. It’s the nature of the beast.

Furthermore, stop taking things so hard. You’re a major league baseball player. A pretty popular one at that. Most normal people, bloggers specifically like myself, lose out on girls all the time to people that aren’t Super Bowl heros and we still get up and make magic on the internet the next morning. It’s called being a professional (or something like that).

I do feel bad for you, Matt. You lost out on love and that must be tough. However, a young rich man like yourself in New York City should be just fine. Best of luck.
