DraftKings Main MLB Picks For May 27

We have five evening games for the main DraftKings tournament. There are a couple of high priced pitchers here, but are they worth using? Should we use Maeda in his return from the disabled list? Let’s check out some stats to find out!

The money line for yesterday evening was up to 119. That isn’t surprising considering the wealth of aces available on the slate. My pitching stack lineup finished well in the money at 147.45. The other just missed, and the Red Sox stack was a total disaster.

The winning lineup held pretty steady at 193.8 DraftKings points. He got value in Zach Godley along with Max Scherzer‘s brilliant performance. He also capitalized on huge nights from Neil Walker, Martin Maldonado, and Charlie Blackmon. He even survived a zero from Evan Longoria!

These picks are based mostly on statistical analysis . If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. Next: DraftKings Main Lineup

P: Gerrit Cole ($9,900): Cole has held the Mets to a .238 average over 42 at bats with only three RBI and 11 strikeouts. He also gets the advantage of going at home in a park that hinders power. If he can stay away from Jay Bruce, who has driven in all three runs off of him, Cole could be in for a really good night!

P: Ty Blach ($6,200): Blach has never faced the Braves. Atlanta has been a hot hitting team, but Blach is in a great pitcher’s environment and he has turned in three straight quality starts after getting pounded in Cincinnati. I wouldn’t touch Blach on the road, but he has a stellar 1.59 ERA in four home starts. That makes him well worth the price tonight.

C: Evan Gattis ($3,600): Gattis is 6-14(.429) in his career against Wade Miley with two walks, two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBI. Brian McCann is active, but I would bet that Gattis is still in there somewhere against Miley. Gattis hasn’t taken Miley deep yet, but it is just a matter of time.

1B: Brandon Belt ($3,800): Belt is 4-10 with two solo homers and three runs scored against Mike Foltynewicz already. Many DFS players are on Foltynewicz tonight, but I will use the Giants hitters that have hit him well, and take Blach at $2000 less.

2B: Adam Frazier ($4,500): Frazier has been on a tear lately. He has 130 DraftKings points in the last ten games, and is hitting .347 on the season. I will throw him out there batting leadoff against Zach Wheeler.

3B: Jedd Gyorko ($4,700): Gyorko has a lot of power, and he is going against rookie lefty Kyle Freeland in a hitter’s park. That said, Freeland has a 3.80 ERA in four starts at Coors Field. I’m not going with a stack, but I do want some exposure here. Gyorko would seem to have the most right handed power.

SS: Brandon Crawford ($3,500): Crawford has smoked Foltynewicz so far. He is 5-10 with a walk, a double, three homers, and four RBI against the Braves’ youngster. It is true that AT&T Park impedes power, but with these kind of stats, it’s worth taking the shot.

OF: Charlie Blackmon ($5,600): Blackmon is an impressive 7-12(.583) with a walk, two doubles, a triple, a homer, a steal, three runs scored, and two RBI against Adam Wainwright in his career. However, I am not stacking Rockies because Wainwright actually has a 2.73 career ERA in Coors Field over five career starts.

OF: George Springer ($4,200): How does Wade Miley still have a 2.59 ERA on the season? He has only struck out 11 while walking nine in his last three starts while allowing three home runs. Springer is 3-8 with two walks, a double, two solo homers, and four runs scored in his career against Miley. An Astros stack is in order if you can afford it. They are hitting .346 against Miley in 104 at bats!

OF: Mark Trumbo ($3,900): Trumbo is 6-15 with a double, two triples, three homers, five runs scored, and seven RBI in his career against Dallas Keuchel. He also holds the platoon advantage in Minute Maid Park, which is kind to right handed pull hitters. Trumbo could snap out of his funk tonight.
