P: Clayton Kershaw ($13,000):Ā So, it should come as a huge surprise that Kershaw has dominated the Cubs, right? I thought so. The Curbs are hitting just .152 against him in 79 at bats with two homers and a whopping 38 strikeouts. We all know how dominant Kershaw has been at home during the last three-plus years. This doesnāt look good for the Cubs.
P: Matt Harvey ($6,900):Ā Harvey has had more downs than ups so far this year, but he turned in a good outing against the Padres in his last start. Now he gets a Pirates team that is struggling at the plate as well. They are hitting a solid .250 against him in 24 career at bats, but I am more looking at the performance so far this year. The one homer he allowed was to Andrew McCutchen, who has had a fairly slow year so far. I trust Harvey far more than either Coors Field pitcher, and there is nothing else in the middle range.
C: Kurt Suzuki ($2,900):Ā Suzuki should be in the lineup today, and he has a double, a walk, a homer, and three RBI in his career against Johnny Cueto.
1B: Matt Adams ($3,400):Ā Adams is 6-17(.353) with two walks, a double, a solo homer, and two runs scored against Johnny Cueto. I have a couple of Braves in here just in case Cueto misses his start. At any rate, Cueto has a 4.64 ERA on the season, and he is dealing with blisters on his pitching hand. The Braves may be able to get to him after all!
2B: DJ LeMahieu ($4,500):Ā LeMahieu is one of the few Rockets that has not hit Lance Lynn hard, but I still think he fits nicely into todayās Rockies stack hitting at the top of the order. He has to get to him some time, right?
3B: Nolan Arenado ($5,300):Ā Lance Lynn has struggled against the Rockies, even at sea level. No one has hit him quite as hard as Parra has, but Arenadoās only hit in four at bats is a two run homer.
SS: Kike Hernandez ($2,900):Ā Hernandez is on this team for one reason: to hit left handed pitching. His history against Madison Bumgarner is well documented. His history against Jon Lester is a little less impressive, but it works for this price. Hernandez is only 3-13(.231) against Lester, but he has a triple, a homer, two runs scored, and three RBI against him.
OF: Matt Kemp ($4,000):Ā Kemp is 9-31(.290) with two walks, a double, three solo homers, and five runs scored in his career against Cueto. Regardless of if Cueto pitches or not, I want Kemp in there. The price is right on him.
OF: Gerardo Parra ($4,100):Ā Parra is 11-24(.458) with two walks, four doubles, three triples, two homers, eight runs scored, and three RBI in his career against Lance Lynn. The Rockies are hitting .310 in their careers with a .406 wOBA in 84 at bats against Lynn, and some of those games were in St. Louis. A Rockies stack is great if you fade Kershaw.
OF: Justin Ruggiano ($2,700):Ā Ruggiano is an impressive 4-8 with a solo homer against R.A. Dickey in his career. For this price, he is worth taking a chance on with this kind of history.
