Jerry West has been in the news for potentially leaving his role with the Warriors, but the focus was still on the LaVar Ball circus on Friday.

The LaVar Ball circus has been running rampant in the basketball world for months now, and even the man behind the NBA’s logo, Jerry West, couldn’t avoid the Big Baller hurricane on Thursday.

West, a special advisor to the Golden State Warriors, has his team already up 1-0 over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, and had plenty of material to talk about with the series alone. However, he still got some questions regarding basketball’s most-hyped incoming player, Lonzo Ball, with the NBA Draft in a few weeks.

In an interview on the Dan Patrick Show, West got caught up with some questions regarding Ball and his outspoken father, LaVar, and gave an honest opinion about everyone talking about the dad.

"“Frankly, I don’t even like to talk about his dad. I’d rather talk about the kid,” West said in the interview. “His dad, to me, I wouldn’t want a father like that, to be honest with you. Because I think he puts added pressure on his kid.”"

West added that LaVar taking over the spotlight from his son isn’t a good look, especially when his son is likely entering the draft in the top-five, if not top-three picks.

West is reportedly “very intrigued” about the possibility of leaving the Warriors to join the Clippers organization this offseason, but still has his team in the NBA Finals for the time being. Either way, both the Clippers and the Warriors won’t have a legitimate chance to pick Ball (or his father) with such late picks in the draft, so West won’t have to worry about any media shenanigans coming his way after the NBA Draft is done.
