Warriors advisor Jerry West is reportedly “very intrigued” about joining the Clippers.

The NBA rumor mill went wild last night about the LA Clippers trying to rip Jerry West away from the Goldens State Warriors.

Now, according to the Los Angeles Times, it may not be that hard to persuade Mr. West to come back to the City of Angeles.

As heavily reported last night, the Clippers are trying to pry West away from Oakland to attempt to emulate the success he has had advising the Warriors front office the past six years. In that time span, the Warriors have become the NBA’s winningest team and even have a championship (2015) to show for their efforts.

The Clippers, who are mortal enemies of Golden State, want to have the same type of success in L.A., a city that is used to winning championships and nothing else. So why not bring aboard the man who not only was a part of the Warriors turning around their losing culture but for a long time, also the main man who was the chief of the rival Lakers’ longtime dominance of the NBA?

It seems that West is apparently listing to what the Clippers are trying to sell.

According to Times reporter Broderick Turner, West is reportedly “very intrigued” about hooking up with the Clippers front office. This tidbit came from two league executives who, according to the Times, were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. As well, nothing can really happen until West’s contract come to an end in July.

Nevertheless, this is great news for the Clippers as the team is facing a summer that could point the way to where this franchise heads in the future, and maybe having West aboard could be a huge asset to trying to finally unseat the Lakers as the “NBA Kings of Hollywood.”
