DraftKings Main MLB Picks For June 4

Usually on days or nights where there are only five games in a DraftKings tournament the pitching options are very slim. Not tonight. There are a few high priced options, but also several mid-range pitchers that could come up big tonight. Which way should we go? Let’s check out some past stats and try to build a winner!

More from DFS

The money line was down a bit to 102.4 due to mainly poor pitching across the slate. Alex Cobb and Ervin Santana helped make this the worst lineup I have ever made. My pitchers lost a combined 17.95 points! Let’s shoot for something better tonight.

Predictably, the winning lineup was down as well to 188.2. He took a chance on David Price and Sam Gaviglio, who both turned in very good performances. A big night from Mike Zunino and an Astros stack won him the touranment.

These picks are based mostly on statistical analysis . If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players. Check out this post from Matt McGarvey for great tips about whether to use a hot player in DFS or not.

P: Jose Berrios ($8,000): Berrios was finally touched up a little by the Astros in his last start, but in all fairness, they have hit everyone in the last two weeks. Just look at what they did to poor Yu Darvish. Armed with a devastating slider, The Angels are going to have their hands full without Mike Trout. I like Berrios for a pretty big day!

P: Ariel Miranda ($7,000): Miranda has never faced the Rays, and though he struggles with allowing baserunners, he usually limits the damage. The Rays struggle against left handed pitching and strike out a whole lot against them. Miranda has an impressive 2.36 ERA at home this year. He looks like one of the safer plays of the afternoon slate.

C: Willson Contreras ($3,500): Contreras has only faced Michael Wacha once. He hit a two run homer off of him. If Contreras doesn’t start, fear not. You can use the late swap to switch to Yadier Molina, who is 4-13(.308) with a walk, a double, a run scored, and a RBI against Kyle Hendricks.

1B: Anthony Rizzo ($4,500): Rizzo is 13-28(.464) with a walk, three homers, six runs scored, and six RBI in his career against Wacha. He is by far the best first base option of the later slate.

2B: Jose Altuve ($5,400): Altuve is 6-10 with two walks, four runs scored, and three RBI against Martin Perez. He is also sitting near the top of the best offense in the league with an average at best left hander pitching to them. The Astros could have a huge day!

3B: Adrian Beltre ($4,300): Beltre is 5-13 with a walk, a triple, three homers, five runs scored, and four RBI in his career against Brad Peacock. Many like Peacock as a value pitcher today, and I don’t blame them. However, the Rangers are hitting .292 off of him in 65 at bats, and there is plenty of pitching value all over this slate.

SS: Trea Turner ($4,500): Turner has never faced Sonny Gray, but as the leadoff hitter of a team that has the potential to score a lot of runs once again, Turner could be a solid bargain. Gray has been very good this year, but he hasn’t faced an offense at potent as the Nats, who get Bryce Harper back today. You may have heard of him.

OF: George Springer ($5,700): Springer is only 2-16 against Martin Perez in his career, but he has driven in a couple of runs off of him. Springer is on a tear right now, hitting five homers in the last seven games. He is worth the price right now. He is riding a streak of seven consecutive games of 10 or more DraftKings points!

OF: Robbie Grossman ($3,900): Grossman has 39 DraftKings points in the first three games of this series. He gets to face his former teammate Ricky Nolasco today, who has struggled to a 5.07 ERA on the season. I like Grossman’s chances!

OF: Byron Buxton ($3,000): Buxton is also cheap, with good reason. He had a dreadful first six weeks of the season. However, he is finally starting to figure out this getting on base thing. And he is wreaking havoc once he gets there. Buxton is a solid punt play this afternoon.
