Graham Rahal became the first IndyCar driver to sweep the Dual in Detroit on Sunday. Here are the complete Dual in Detroit race 2 results.

Graham Rahal won the Dual in Detroit race 2 on Sunday, becoming the first IndyCar driver to sweep the Detroit doubleheader in its history by putting together two dominating performances on consecutive days.

Rahal led a combined 96 of 140 laps between the two races, in addition to capturing the pole position for Saturday’s opening round. Though he started third on Sunday, he ran up front for most of the day and held off Josef Newgarden in a two-lap shootout to capture a second straight win.

The Dual in Detroit also gave IndyCar its first repeat winner of the 2017 season. Up until Sunday, there had been seven different winners across the year’s first seven races. Rahal’s double victories ensured that a Honda-powered car swept the weekend in the backyard of Chevrolet.

Team Penske did muster up a rebound, with three of their four drivers finishing in the Top 5 in the second race. Josef Newgarden was second with Will Power in third and Simon Pagenaud coming in fifth. Current IndyCar points leader Scott Dixon had another solid day out, coming home sixth.

The results came on a relatively caution-free day, but the one flag was major. The slowing of James Hinchcliffe and a turbo failure from Spencer Pigot caused the race to be red-flagged for more than 17 minutes with only a handful of laps to go. But Rahal opened up a new lead on the restart and held on for the final two circuits to nab the victory and jump to sixth in the title hunt in the process.
