With Chris Paul officially out of Los Angeles, Blake Griffin is looking at options outside of the Clippers as he’s scheduled to meet with the Suns on Saturday.

Blake Griffin is one of the most coveted free agents out there, and Chris Paul’s departure from the Los Angeles Clippers might officially deter him from returning to the place formerly known as Lob City.

With rumors swirling about where Griffin will end up, including a possible return to Oklahoma to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder, a new potential landing spot has come up for the NBA All-Star.

According to a report from Brad Turner of the LA Times, Griffin is reportedly currently scheduled to meet with the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, who can offer him a contract for four years for $130 million.

The Suns provide an enticing option for Griffin to join, as they have a talented, young roster that he could give veteran experience to, and potentially build up a contender in the Western Conference. The starting lineup could feature Devin Booker, the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft in Josh Jackson, and potentially Griffin to round it all out.

The Clippers can offer Griffin the most money out of any team out there, but Paul’s departure and the lack of talent on the roster may make Griffin rethink his options and pursue other opportunities.

While it’s not a guarantee that Griffin would end up with the Suns, him meeting with the team on the first day of free agency is surely a good sign for Phoenix’s chances in landing the star power forward. Griffin did list Phoenix as one of his favorite NBA cities a few weeks ago, and wouldn’t have to move very far from Los Angeles if he decides to sign with the Suns next week.
