Carmelo Anthony

Back in 2013, Carmelo Anthony decided to fast for 15 days. He didn’t eat meat or carbs. He claimed to have low energy on the court, but he averaged 32 points per game during the 15 day stretch, so maybe he should go back to fasting? Hakeem Olajuwon used to fast during Ramadan and it didn’t seem to bother him all that much. Maybe all NBA players should fast during Ramadan so we can figure out who the best player in the world without food is? I’m just spitballing here.

Anyway, this slot doesn’t have to be Carmelo Anthony. It can be any NBA player who hasn’t eaten meat for 15 days. Carmelo was just the only person who was open about fasting during the season, so he gets the nod. I think anyone who hasn’t eaten meat for 15 days would either do amazing or terrible in a hot dog eating contest.

They’d do amazing because they haven’t eaten meat in 15 days. That must really suck. I’m at Wendy’s at 3 AM if I haven’t had meat in 24 hours. And I know they close at 1AM. I can’t imagine going 15 days without meat. Many hot dogs would be consumed after two weeks without meat.

However, after not eating meat for that long, your body isn’t used to it. You can only handle so much before you throw up. After about the 15th hot dog, you’d start to get sick. Getting sick disqualifies you from the competition.

In conclusion, fasting before this competition probably isn’t a good idea.
