NBA Free Agency rumors: Andre Iguodala to meet with the Rockets
Andre Iguodala is going to be a busy man in NBA Free Agency, meeting with the Houston Rockets on the first day of free agency.
Andre Iguodala is going to be a heavily coveted free agent this summer. After winning the NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors, Iguodala is looking to nab his big payday. When free agency begins on Saturday, July 1, the Warriors’ sixth man will have a lot of options.
Iguodala will meet with the San Antonio Spurs first, who could definitely use another defender to ease the load on Kawhi Leonard. His next meeting will be with the Sacramento Kings, who will look to add the veteran to lead a group of young guys.
The Houston Rockets are joining in the arms race, after trading for Chris Paul this past week. ESPN’s Chris Haynes is now reporting Iguodala will meet with the Rockets on Saturday night as well.
The Rockets are looking to add some wing depth behind Trevor Ariza. They will need to make the cap space if they want to meet the financial demands of Iguodala. Houston’s ultra-aggressive approach has a chance to get them in the mix for the top-two seeds in the Western Conference.
General Manager Daryl Morey isn’t afraid of anything and he continues to go after key players to strengthen his squad. Pairing Iguodala with Harden and Paul could make for something very interesting.

Houston had a great season this past year, but they’re looking to improve their roster heading into a tough Western Conference. Adding Iguodala to the Rockets’ squad could give them more defensive stability.
Rockets have two exceptions they could possibly use in a contract, but neither would come anywhere close to what Iguodala would ideally want. Let’s see if Houston can land Iguodala in free agency to help defend the other wings in the West.
