The Golden State Warriors are looking to re-sign one of their key free agents, Andre Iguodala, who’s not meeting with the team in free agency.

The Warriors are looking to repeat as NBA Champions, after demolishing teams in the NBA. They have numerous free agents up and down the roster, as they look to put role players around their core four of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant.

Arguably, the fifth-best player on the team didn’t even start for the Warriors last year. It was Andre Iguodala, who got beat out by Eric Gordon for Sixth Man of the Year. After winning two championships and a Finals’ MVP with the Warriors, it seems like Iguodala is looking to get paid handsomely this offseason.

There will be numerous suitors for the two-way player and locker-room leader. Per ESPN’s Chris Haynes, Iguodala will not meet with the Warriors during free agency.

On Thursday, it was reported that Warriors’ owner Joe Lacob is hesitant to go into the luxury tax to sign Iguodala. For weeks now, the talk has been that Iggy could receive up to $20 million per year on the open market. The Warriors probably won’t have to match that number.

If Iguodala does decide to leave town, it seems that Spurs’ Dewayne Dedmon would be an option at starting center for the Warriors, per Sam Amick.

Amick goes on to add that Dedmon has been a player that Golden State has had their eyes on for a while now and with McGee and Pachulia set to become free agents, it makes sense for them to sign the ex-Spurs’ center.

It all hinges on what Iguodala does in free agency. If he decides to sign with the Warriors, they could definitely be hamstrung by the amount of cap space he takes. Him leaving will allow Bob Myers and the front office to sign other role players.
