NBA Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves meeting with Paul Millsap
By Jason Evans
The Minnesota Timberwolves are continuing a busy offseason as they are set to meet with free agent forward Paul Millsap.
Boy, the Western Conference of the NBA is going to be crazy next year. We’ve seen Paul George go to Oklahoma City, Chris Paul go to Houston and Jimmy Butler go to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Speaking of the Timberwolves, they already dealt point guard Ricky Rubio to the Utah Jazz and signed Jeff Teague to take his spot.
Teague is a former member of the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks. If the Timberwolves have their way, a former teammate of Teague may be joining him.
It won’t be the only meeting Millsap has as he is also set to meet with the Phoenix Suns tomorrow. The Suns are looking to upgrade their power forward position after Blake Griffin decided to stay with the Clippers.
A starting five of Millsap, Butler, Teague, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns would certainly give the Timberwolves a chance to compete for a playoff spot in the west.
If Millsap wants the max, he won’t get it in Minnesota. There’s always moves they can do to clear out a little more room to give him more money. Maybe someone would take Cole Aldrich and his $7.3 million salary, with 2018-19 being non-guaranteed.

It’s also important to remember that Wiggins will hit restricted free agency after next year. Can he take that next step in his development? How willing will Minnesota be to go over the cap and pay the tax for doing so?
Things are getting very interesting in Minnesota, and it could be a fun year and team to watch next season, with or without Millsap.
