New information about what we can expect from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s next expansion has surfaced.
Breath of the Wild‘s first expansion is barely a week old, and we are already looking ahead to what the game’s second DLC has to offer. With a game as addicting as this one, can anyone really blame us?
The second expansion will be a prequel to the events which take place in Breath of the Wild. Called the Champions’ Ballad, it will give us a closer look at the four Champions back before Calamity Ganon struck them down. Accordingly, it will also give us more time with Zelda.
With all of these characters in play, some have speculated whether Link will still be the main character of the DLC. Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma has confirmed that that will be the case. Furthermore, a small amount of footage from the upcoming DLC was shared via Nintendo’s European Twitter account.

The footage doesn’t give us too much information, but it does confirm that Zelda will play a heavy role in the new story. It also shows two main locales. One is heavily covered in snow, which suggests one a path in one of the tall mountains, and the other is Gerudo, the all-female village in the desert.

Aonuma also shared that Toon Link’s Windwaker shirt will be a new armor piece in the DLC.

It’s not much, but this information has us excited once again for what’s still to come in this terrific Zelda installment.
Unrelated to the upcoming DLC, Nintendo has announced that they will be releasing a new book documenting the creation of Breath of the Wild. From the initial pictures, the volume looks predictably beautiful.

No word yet on when this book will be released. Breath of the Wild‘s second expansion will drop some time this winter.
