Markelle Fultz gives Twitter update after ankle injury
Markelle Fultz gave 76ers fans a scare on Saturday night, and he took to Twitter to put his fans’ minds at ease after his injury.
Philadelphia 76ers fans have been taught to “Trust the Process”, but it’s tough to do that when your star players suffer injuries left and right. Markelle Fultz knows that, and he wanted to let fans know that everything will be okay in Philly after his injury.
On Saturday night in the team’s Summer League game against the Golden State Warriors, Fultz injured his ankle in his debut in a Sixers uniform, and was forced to leave the game as he was evaluated back in the team’s locker room.
After the game, Sixers Summer League coach Lloyd Pierce said the team’s first overall pick was diagnosed with a sprained ankle, which is a good sign as far as how severe the injury looked at first when fans saw it take place earlier in the night.
A sprained ankle will definitely be headed in time with proper care for the start of the regular season, but just in case some fans were still worried about the bad luck surrounding their top pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Fultz went to Twitter to address the fans directly.
In a tweet Sunday afternoon, Fultz let fans know he’s okay, and thanked fans for all of the support after he left the game on Saturday.

Maybe one of the people he was thanking who were worried was his teammate and long-time “process” proponent, Joel Embiid. Embiid had posted on Twitter during the Summer League about how upset he was about the injury, and he’ll definitely be happy to see his teammate giving out updates when he checks his Twitter feed.
