John Elway was one of the best quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL, and he has transitioned well to the front office for the Denver Broncos.
John Elway was a beast during his time with the Denver Broncos as the team’s quarterback, and he has done a nice job as the team’s general manager since retiring. Elway signed a new five-year deal with the team on Monday, with his contract taking him through 2021. The Broncos have already won a Super Bowl with Elway as the GM, after winning two with him under center during his playing days.
Andrew Luck is one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, but he has struggled with a nagging injury since 2015. He had surgery on his shoulder in January, and while he is on track to start the regular season, he will start training camp on the PUP list. Luck and the Indianapolis Colts have the talent to make a playoff run this season, but they are going to have to do a better job of protecting him in 2017.
The Minnesota Vikings expect to have Teddy Bridgewater on the PUP list as well as he recovers from a devastating knee injury last preseason. At running back, the team will begin their first season since 2007 without Adrian Peterson as the feature back, and his replacements are not trying to be him. Latavius Murray and first-round pick Dalvin Cook will likely share duties this season, giving the team a nice tandem at the running back position in their first season without Peterson.
In more Dallas Cowboys news, it appears their off-the-field issues will not go away. Wide receiver Lucky Whitehead was arrested and charged with misdemeanor petty larceny after stealing less than $200 in merchandise from a convenient store in Virginia. The team is already dealing with issues with running back Ezekiel Elliott, making for what is another eventful offseason in Cowboys land.

Finally, it looks like the Atlanta Falcons are getting close to locking up their top running back. Devonta Freeman has played like one of the best backs in the NFL in recent years, and he is about to be paid like one. General manager Thomas Dimitroff wants to get the deal done before training camp begins, which just happens to be in a few days. Freeman and teammate Tevin Coleman form arguably the best running back tandem in the NFC.
