Live tracking all of the results and highlights from WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III on Saturday night and grading all of the matches on the card
What happens when a Glorious one meets a Chosen one in a 20×20 squared circle? It’s hard to say with any certainty. But WWE fans will get their answer on Saturday night at the Barclays Center. NXT has returned for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III and the champions, Bobby Roode, will have his belt on the line in the main event against Drew McIntyre.
These two have been going back and forth for some time now and figure to have a phenomenal match. There’s just too much talent between the pair for it not to be. However, what could help put it over the top into the stratosphere of greatness is the story that they’ve told. There’s genuine disdain being portrayed and the future of NXT seems to hang in the balance.
Of course, that’s not all that’s in store for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. Asuka could be having her last ride with the developmental brand before being called up. Still unbeaten, she puts her NXT Women’s Championship on the line on Saturday night, facing Ember Moon once more. The tag team gold will also be on the line. The Authors of Pain will defend against Sanity in what should be a brutal affair.
Rounding out the card on Saturday night for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III will be Aleister Black vs Hideo Itami and then Johnny Gargano vs Andrade Almas. Both of those matches have no gold on the line, but still have the potential to be fantastic.
Don’t miss out on a moment of the action on Saturday night. We’ll be live tracking everything from start to finish with results, highlights and quick recaps before ultimately assessing the match and handing out grades. You can follow all of that from NXT TakeOver Brooklyn below once the show begins at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Andrade Almas (w/ Zelina) def. Johnny Gargano
THIS is why they call @JohnnyGargano #JohnnyWrestling! @AndradeCienWWE is learning first-hand... #NXTTakeOver pic.twitter.com/RDvLzrWD6S

Gargano and Almas were on the bottom of the card, but they absolutely tore it down. There were numerous near falls that had Brooklyn on their feet and screaming. The finish to the match came when Zelina distracted Johnny Wrestling by throwing a DIY shirt in his face. This allowed Almas to get up and grab the win.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Sanity def. Authors of Pain (c) — NEW CHAMPS!
#SAnitY's @TheEricYoung just officially took @KillianDain's place in this match against #AOP...and the result is CHAOS! #NXTTakeOver pic.twitter.com/RTVMehSB1Y

This was another match that exceeded expectations. There was plenty of extracurricular action throughout at Killain Dain and Nikki Cross got involved on a number of occasions. When it came down to it, however, SAnity was able to pick up the big victory. However, their celebration was short-lived as Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish, reDragon, took them out and left them laying.

Aleister Black def. Hideo Itami
The ropes are definitely @WWEAleister's friend. @HideoItami #NXTTakeOver pic.twitter.com/r8fKk9gfLZ

Not so shockingly, Aleister Black and Hideo Itami kicked the ever-loving crap out of one another. It was back and forth with brutal offense, but Black seemed to gain strength as Itami got more confident and seemingly more in control. Eventually, Black was able to get rolling and then ultimately hit a big Black Mass out of nowhere for the victory.

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Asuka (c) def. Ember Moon
This match was particularly brutal, as you’d expect between two women that have been going at it for so long. There was a suplex onto the ramp, Ember Moon hit The Eclipse, but the champ still wouldn’t be denied. In the end, she was able to survive and then lock in the Auska Lock to pick up the win and retain. (For highlights, click the link on the result.)
Grade: B+
NXT Championship Match: Drew McIntyre def. Bobby Roode (c) — NEW CHAMP!!
A predictably great match between these two, they tore the house down and told a great story between the two of them, McIntyre trying to become the new face of NXT. In the end, it took a ton, but he got the job done. However, that wasn’t all she wrote as NXT and ReDRagon and ADAM COLE (BAY BAY) came out and left the new champ laid out.
