News of a surprising loss has angered Floyd Mayweather ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Conor McGregor
In just five short days, Floyd Mayweather will make history when he enters the ring to fight UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor while the entire world watches the legendary boxer attempt to retire a perfect 50-0. But in the midst of sports and entertainment history, Mayweather has taken time to angrily mourn the loss of a dear Instagram friend.
Earlier this week, pop star and Mayweather walk out buddy Justin Bieber angered the boxing icon when he decided that it was time to set some boundaries in their bromance by unfollowing “Money” on Instagram. Understandably, news of Bieber’s decision hit Mayweather like an unruly sparring partner and sources say that Mayweather responded by going “insane, nuclear,” even calling the Canadian a “traitor.”
Insiders close to Mayweather say that he feels that he’s been betrayed by his former Instagram bestie because he stood by Bieber when he went through a recent rough patch. Not yet over the loss, Mayweather is said to still be screaming about the incident.
According to sources, Bieber was inspired to make the decision by counselors at the Hillsong Church, and while he doesn’t want to completely abandon his friendship with Floyd, it sounds like Mayweather’s love of strip clubs played a role in the Instagram breakup.
In July, Bieber angered millions of fans when he announced that he was canceling 14 dates of his “Purpose World Tour” due to health issues including exhaustion. But sources close to Hillsong Church, which Bieber now attends regularly, claim that he bailed on the rest of his tour in order to rededicate his life to religion.

Recently, Bieber has begun to focus more on religion under the guidance of Hillsong Church pastor Carl Lentz. But regardless of Bieber’s religious pursuits, his decision to suddenly severe his Instagram friendship with Mayweather has clearly hurt the boxer.
On Saturday, Mayweather will take on McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and his fans must now hope that suffering this social media loss doesn’t hurt his chances of defeating the Irishman.
