After months of waiting and wondering, Jim Harbaugh announces when the Michigan football roster will be released.

With reports coming out last week that New Jersey Advance Media tried to get their hands on Jim Harbaugh’s roster for the 2017 season, Harbaugh has announced when it will be released.

The New Jersey Advance Media tried to create a top 15 players in the Big Ten list, getting rosters from every Big Ten team except for Michigan. The company was denied access to a copy of the roster and was told they would have to wait until the week of Aug. 25 to receive it. After filing an FOIA request, they were told they wouldn’t get the roster until the week of Aug. 25 again.

Now time will tell if the company gets the roster before Harbaugh finishes it, as final tryouts for the team start on Aug. 28, so they may have to wait longer until they can finally see the Michigan football roster.

Another interesting note is the roster will be released just three days before the season opener against Florida, giving players who possibly make the team during the tryouts only a few days to learn the playbook and scout the opponent.

Harbaugh’s team will have some bulletin board material as well, as Florida head coach Jim McElwain said today Florida is heading to Dallas to “beat the heck out of Michigan.” Along with that, the 2017 AP preseason poll was released and Michigan starts the season as the number 11 seed, while Florida starts at the number 17 spot. It could motivate the Wolverines even more knowing they are outside of the top 10 and looking in.
