The big transfers of the summer have already taken place. Paris Saint-Germain shattered the transfer record, signing Neymar from Barcelona for over $200 million, and then added highly-touted 18-year-old forward Kylian Mbappe on loan.Ā Manchester United spent a more modest $100 million on Romelu Lukaku as they bid to reclaim the Premier League title, while Barca finalized a deal for Ousmane Dembele as Neymar’s replacement.

There are, however, several transfer sagas still looming as we enter the final days of the summer window, which officially closes on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. ET. Barca remain interested in Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, as the Merseyside club chase Virgil van Dijk and Thomas Lemar, Chelsea are desperate to strengthen their thin squad and Manchester City are reportedly hoping to convince Arsenal to part ways with Alexis Sanchez, who’s entering the final year of his contract.
