The Atlanta Falcons will head to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, as they look to defend their NFC title.
The Atlanta Falcons were a prolific offensive team last season, riding Matt Ryan’s right arm to the Super Bowl. However, they suffered a catastrophic loss to the New England Patriots in the big game, blowing a 28-3 second half lead. The organization says they have put the loss behind them, and with a cushy first game against the Chicago Bears in Week 1, they should get back to their winning ways.
This past April, the Bears traded up one spot to select North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, and the plan is for him to be their quarterback of the future. In 2017, it will be Mike Glennon’s show, however, as the team spent a ton of money to bring him in this offseason. Glennon lost his best target in Cameron Meredith this Summer, as he tore up his knee, so look for the passing game to be a bit pedestrian in this one.

The Bears did have the second-leading rusher in the NFL last season in Jordan Howard, who played extremely well as a rookie. He will not take anybody by surprise this season, and with a bad passing attack, he is going to be keyed on weekly. The Falcons have a fast, young defense, and they should be able to make quick work of Glennon and the Bears offense on Sunday.

The Falcons are going to be one of the best teams in the NFL this season, while the Bears are going to struggle to win five games. Ryan and the offense are going to have a field day in this one, and it will give the Falcons defense an opportunity to gel as a unit. Atlanta is going to be fired up after their shocking loss in the Super Bowl, so expect them to keep their foot on the gas throughout on Sunday.
