The Atlanta Falcons will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night in Week 2. Here is the game preview, the betting odds and a final score prediction.
In one of the best games of the week in the NFL, the Atlanta Falcons will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. This will be a rematch of the 2016 NFC Championship, only this time it will be in a new Atlanta stadium.
Kickoff from brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will be at 8:30 p.m. ET on September 17. NBC will have the national broadcast with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth in the booth.
Atlanta and Green Bay come into this game with Week 1 wins. The Falcons managed to survive a scare from the Chicago Bears up in the Windy City. Bears quarterback Mike Glennon could not hit the game-tying touchdown on the Falcons late in the fourth quarter.
Green Bay put together a strong second half against the formidable Seattle Seahawks defense to improve to 1-0. It helps that the Packers got a great game out of Mike Daniels and their pass rush. Seattle has to fix that offensive line yesterday. Otherwise, star quarterback Russell Wilson isn’t making it through all 16 games.
According to SportsBook Review, the Falcons will be laying three points at home to the visiting Packers. The associated moneylines in this game are Atlanta -155 and Green Bay +135. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 54 points.

With this being a game in a dome with two of the best all-around offenses in football, probably go with the over in this one. Atlanta and Green Bay’s defenses are getting better, but these are two very much offense-first football teams.
NFL fans will get a real treat to see two of the best quarterbacks in the business go to work on Sunday night. Matt Ryan is the reigning NFL MVP for the Falcons, while Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers may be the best pure talent in all of football.
The crowd will be rocking in Atlanta on Sunday night. It will be insanely loud, as the Falcons open up their new building. It will make it hard for the Packers to run the ball and should amplify the improving Atlanta pass rush.

Rodgers will end up making more plays than Ryan, but this one will come down to the final possession. Ryan will lead the Falcons on a three-minute drive that will be capped off by a game-winning 35-yard field goal off the leg of Matt Bryant as time expires. Atlanta wins, but does not cover. This thrilling one in Atlanta is a push.
Prediction: Falcons 31, Packers 28
