The Atlanta Falcons will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night in Week 2. Here is the television information, the betting odds and a score prediction.
In what is the best game on the schedule in Week 2, it will be a rematch of the 2016 NFC Championship on Sunday Night Football. The Atlanta Falcons will host the Green Bay Packers in what will be a must-see television event.
Kickoff from brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will be at 8:30 p.m. ET on September 17. NBC will have the national broadcast with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth in the booth. NBC Live Extra and FuboTV will have the available live streams.
Atlanta and Green Bay are coming off wins in Week 1. The Falcons survived at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears. Chicago quarterback Mike Glennon had his opportunities to win it late, but the Falcons defense didn’t break. Green Bay stifled a bad Seattle Seahawks offensive line to improve to 1-0 on the year.
This has been a game circled on both team’s calendar’s all offseason. For Atlanta, this will be the first regular season game the Falcons will play in their new building. With the Packers, they’ll want to beat the team that clobbered them in the NFC Championship a year ago.

According to SportsBook Review, Atlanta will be laying three points at home to the visiting Packers. The associated moneylines in the game are Atlanta -155 and Green Bay +135. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 54 points.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Atlanta -3
Moneylines: Atlanta -155, Green Bay +135
Over/Under: 54
On paper, these are two evenly matched teams. Atlanta is a three-point favorite because it is a home game for the Falcons. The spread might be more than Packers -3 if this game were to be played in Lambeau Field. These are two of the best rosters in the NFC and should be in the mix to play for a Super Bowl if they take care of business this fall.
Simply put, Atlanta has to play better than it did against the Bears to win this game. Admittedly, it was more about the Bears playing very well than the Falcons playing poorly, but it wasn’t a blowout win like everybody thought Atlanta would have up in the Windy City.
Green Bay may have been able to wreak havoc in the Seattle backfield, but Atlanta’s offensive line is exponentially better than whatever $8 million can buy in the Pacific Northwest. The Packers proved they can get after the quarterback with the 32nd best line in football. Can they do it against a top-12 one in Atlanta?
This game will come down to the final possession. Aaron Rodgers will have tied the game up at 28 points with a terrific pass to tight end Martellus Bennett. Reigning NFL MVP Matt Ryan will orchestrate a methodical drive with three minutes left that will eventually set up a game-winning 35-yard field goal from kicker Matt Bryant as time expires. Falcons win, the point total goes over, but this one is a push with the spread.
