A live look at what will be taking place on Saturday night when Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin finally step into the ring to battle one another

It seems as if it’s been a long time since fans were legitimately excited about a boxing match, but there is no denying that everyone is ready to see what goes down when Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin finally get into the ring with each other and the bell rings. Saturday night from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, we will finally find out who the real king of the middleweight division is.

Golovkin, or better known as GGG to most fans, enters this bout with his unblemished 37-0 record with 33 of those wins coming by way of knockout. The 35-year-old Kazakhstan native has taken the boxing world by storm in recent years, collecting middleweight titles along the way. However, this is the fight that he’s been aiming for, and on Saturday night, he’ll have the biggest stage of his career to prove to everyone that he is one of the most dominant fighters of this generation.

Canelo is the more well-known of the two fighters, and at 27 years old, he has the youth advantage on his side as well. He’s the lineal and Ring Magazine middleweight champion, but now he’s looking to add GGG’s collection of titles to his résumé. The pride of Mexico comes into this highly-anticipated bout with a record of 49-1-1 with 34 knockouts, and really, that one loss is nothing to be magnified too much, because it came at the hands of Floyd Mayweather a few years ago when Canelo was coming up in the ranks and beginning to make a big name for himself.
