The Minnesota Vikings take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 of the NFL season, and there is still no word on who will play quarterback for them.
Sam Bradford has battled injuries during his time in the NFL, and the 2017 season has been no different. After shredding the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, Bradford did not play in the team’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday, as he is dealing with issues with his balky left knee. The Vikings need him back if they are going to challenge in the NFC North, as both the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions look good once again this season.
The New England Patriots are a bit banged up heading in to their Week 3 matchup against the Houston Texans, but they got some big names to return to practice on Wednesday. Dont’a Hightower, Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola all participated in practice Wednesday and should be a go for Sunday. The Patriots fell in Week 1 to the Kansas City Chiefs but rebounded in a big way against the Saints last weekend.
The New York Jets are one of the worst teams in football this season, though it may not affect the employment status of two of the men in charge of turning the team around. General manager Mike Maccagnan and head coach Todd Bowles may be safe even if the team finishes with only three or so wins, though it will be a hard case to justify. The Jets are 0-2 this season, and look lost on both sides of the ball.
Staying with the New York football teams, the New York Giants offense has been downright bad this season. In fact, they have not scored more than 20 points in a game in their last eight contests, and head coach Ben McAdoo may give up playcalling for this weekend’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants made the playoffs last season, earning a Wild Card berth, but struggled mightily against the Green Bay Packers.

The Thursday Night Football matchup may end up being a snooze-fest, as the Los Angeles Rams will take on the San Francisco 49ers. Both of these teams figure to finish toward the bottom of the NFC, though the game will feature two very good running backs. Can Jared Goff continue to develop under Sean McVay? Or will the 49ers send the Rams to their second win in their first three games? We will find out tonight.
