The 2018 NFL Draft class is loaded with talent at the quarterback position, and we have three going in the top 10 picks next April.

With Week 2 of the NFL season in the rearview mirror, we take a look at our latest installment of our weekly NFL Mock Draft. There looks to be some legitimate franchise quarterback prospects in this draft class, as well as some elite offensive lineman. This draft will offer a lot of  teams the ability to hit the reset button on their franchises, which should make for great television next April.

This draft order is certain to look completely different next April, as we have to set the draft order based on current record. If the Patriots are drafting in the middle of the first round, I will be shocked, though I do believe some of the 2-0 teams are for real. With that said, we dive in and take a look at what the first round would look like if the season ended today.

Here is our latest 2018 NFL Mock Draft.

1

Sam Darnold

Quarterback, USC

Coming into the 2017 NFL season, most believed that the New York Jets would be the worst team in football, and they have done their best to live up to that hype through the first two weeks of the season. After losing badly to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, the Jets were thrashed by the Oakland Raiders this past Sunday, and look like a team that is headed to pick first overall next April.

For years, the Jets have struggled to get any kind of consistency at the quarterback position. With at least a handful of big-time prospects at the position in this draft class, the Jets should be able to find their next starter in the first round. While the “Suck for Sam” season is definitely on, the Jets need to be careful, as the redshirt sophomore has yet to decide whether or not he will return to L.A. for another go with the USC Trojans.

While that would be worst case scenario for the Jets,  they would still have a bunch of options if Sam Darnold decides to stay at USC for another season. For now, we are going to assume Darnold will come out, and the Jets will be waiting with open arms.

Darnold showed this past weekend that he has ice water in his veins, winning a close one against Texas, and that is exactly the kind of signal-caller the Jets need as they continue their rebuilding process.
