The Minnesota Vikings will be without their starting quarterback for the second straight week.

After suffering a non-contact knee injury in week one against the New Orléans Saints, Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford is out again. He will not play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week three.

While the team was originally optimistic that he would play after missing the week two game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he is still in too much pain to play.

This means Case Keenum will start again, as he did against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After fans saw Keenum go 20-37 for 167 yards with zero touchdowns, this is not inspiring. Dan Graziano of ESPN originally broke the news. The Vikings confirmed it shortly after in a press conference and tweet.

The reactions are about what one would expect. Take a glance through the replies to the tweet above to see for yourself.

Rumors that Minnesota may not keep Bradford around after the season is over have floated around. They will only become more common after this. This likely depends on whether Teddy Bridgewater is healthy and back to his old self. Bridgewater’s health is still in doubt after he suffered his own catastrophic knee injury during the 2016 preseason.

Minnesota placed Teddy on the PUP list to start the season, meaning he cannot come back until after week six. Luckily for Vikings fans, the team finally expects Bridgewater back at midseason.

For Vikings fans, this feels like more of the same. Every time something looks like it is going well for them, like Bradford’s performance in week one, something happens to derail that. This is just the latest in a long line of knee injuries keeping Vikings players off of the field.
