After a week of big games, a few upsets and other teams making statements, what will the College Football Rankings look like in the Week 6 AP Poll?

Normally, college football fans have to wait for Saturday for the marquee matchups and potential upsets. However, that wasn’t the case in Week 5. There were a pair of big Friday night games and both matchups had big-time implications. However, the results were quite different from one another.

Early on in the Friday slate, a 14th-ranked Miami Hurricanes team that had only played two games took on a feisty and then-unbeaten Duke Blue Devils team in Durham. However, Malik Rosier and the Canes dominated, even with Mark Walton leaving due to injury. In the night-cap, though, the favorite wasn’t so lucky. The USC Trojans got into a war in Pullman, and ultimately saw a late sack-fumble seal a loss to Mike Leach’s Washington State Cougars.

Though that set the stage for more upsets come Saturday, there was really only one. At their homecoming game, the Derrius Guice-less LSU Tigers took on the Troy Trojans. More aptly, Troy took it to LSU in Death Valley. They got out to a 24-7 lead in the fourth quarter and LSU didn’t have enough time to mount a full comeback.

Aside from that, though, a number of other teams made statements with emphatic wins. The Clemson Tigers went to Blacksburg and handled the Virginia Tech Hokies. Moreover, the Auburn Tigers continued to improve as they dismantled Mississippi State. And if that weren’t enough, the Georgia Bulldogs asserted themselves in a 41-0 rout of the Tennessee Volunteers.

With the upsets and big games from rising teams, a change in the college football rankings was inevitable. Having that in mind, let’s take a look at the college football Week 6 AP Poll:
