Titans at Texans: Highlights, score and recap
By John Buhler
The Houston Texans clobbered the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon, 57-14. Here are all the highlights, the game recap and the final score.
Needing a big win to get back to .500, the Houston Texans showed up big time against the AFC South division rival Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Houston obliterated the Titans at NRG Stadium in Houston, 57-14. The Texans improve to 2-2, while the Titans fall to 2-2 on the year.
In a battle of two of the most promising young quarterbacks in the league, Houston’s Deshaun Watson outshined Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota. The Tennessee offense struggled to get going with only two Mariota scampers before he had to exit with a hamstring injury for the game. Once Matt Cassel was in at quarterback, it was over for Tennessee.
Houston would put up 30 points in the first half. Clearly, Watson is the answer for the Texans at quarterback. Since coming into Week 1’s debacle against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Watson has cemented himself as the guy under center for Houston. The Texans always have a chance to win with him at quarterback. He improves to 2-1 as a starter.

Tennessee may not be the toast of this AFC South division after. The Titans have giving up a ton of points so far this season. It was a tough matchup going into a Houston against a Texans that were in desperate need for a win, but we expected a better effort out of the Titans in this one.
This AFC South may not be very good this year, but we seem to have three teams that could be vying for the division crown in the Titans, Texans and Jaguars. These three teams have been beating up on each other in the early part of the season. Here’s to a great race in the division going forward.
Three Stars
- Deshaun Watson: Watson was terrific. He completed 25 of 34 passes for 283 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Watson would have four carries for 24 yards and a touchdown.
- Lamar Miller: Miller had 19 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown. He had four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown.
- DeAndre Hopkins: Hopkins had 10 catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.
