Philly Lyft driver tails a jogging Joel Embiid, shouts “Trust The Process!”

Imagine you’re driving through the streets of Philadelphia and you see a 7-foot GOAT/unicorn running around.

Continuing his campaign to become the most beloved Philadelphia sports figure of all time, Joel Embiid took to the streets last night, jogging around the City of Brotherly Love and talking with random fans along the way.

One lucky Lyft driver got a call that took him right along Embiid’s running path:

Notice just how dedicated this fan is to getting up close and personal with Embiid — first, he nearly runs a red light. Then, he patiently waits behind the gray pickup truck (that could’ve T-boned him had he run the red light) just to yell “Trust The Process!” at Philly’s new favorite son. Embiid, being the people person that he is, threw up his arms like Rocky.

Seeing Embiid doing a little late-night jogging is the latest in a recent string of positive news for the injury-plagued center — just yesterday, Embiid logged his first five-on-five session of the year, after his ability to start the season seemed in doubt just a little over a week ago.

Embiid’s campaign to eventually become the de facto mayor of Philadelphia has seen him make appearances all over the city this year. First, at the NFL Draft:

And his stardom even gets him chants in opposing teams’ arenas.
