Only five weeks into the NFL season and Adrian Peterson is heading to his third team in the last calendar year, ending his stint with New Orleans Tuesday.
The NFL season is only five weeks through the schedule, and Adrian Peterson’s time in New Orleans is already coming to a close. The former All-Pro running back with the Minnesota Vikings was traded to the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday for a conditional draft pick. Peterson rushed only 27 times for the Saints through the first four game, racking up a measly 81 yards in the process.
Tom Brady was not at practice on Tuesday, as he suffered a sprained AC joint in his non-throwing shoulder. The Super Bowl MVP should be ready to go this Sunday and has had some extra time off, considering the Pats played last Thursday night. The Patriots have looked very beatable this season, and definitely, need their signal-caller under center if they hope to get back to the Super Bowl for the second straight season.
Devin Funchess is having one heck of a season, and he continued his strong play in front of his home crowd on Sunday. Funchess caught a touchdown pass against the Detroit Lions, but it appears he hurt his knee in the game. He is listed as questionable for the Panthers Thursday Night Football game against Philadelphia this week, giving Cam Newton one of his best options in the passing game.
The saga that is the national anthem protests have extended into another week, and this time, the NFL commissioner gave his two cents. Roger Goodell sent a letter to all NFL teams stating that he wants all players to stand for the anthem. The commissioner would like a uniform approach to the subject, which may be nearly impossible considering how polarizing a topic it has become over the last year.

In our final story of the day, it looks like one NFL owner is definitely standing behind President Donald Trump on the national anthem issue. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will sit any player who does not stand for the anthem, as he drew a hard line in the sand on Tuesday. The owner of the Cowboys said that this was put into place last season, and it goes for any player, no matter their status.
