Chargers at Raiders: Preview, prediction, odds and pick
By Brad Weiss
In an AFC West battle inside the Oakland Coliseum, the Los Angeles Chargers will take on the Oakland Raiders with last place in the division on the line.
Incredibly, if the Oakland Raiders lose to the Los Angeles Chargers in their Week 6 matchup, they will be in sole possession of last place in the AFC West. That is a pretty horrifying scenario for a Raiders team that was supposed to challenge for supremacy in the AFC this season. They have had to deal with injuries this season, including to their quarterback, who should be back for this one on Sunday.
Derek Carr fractured his back during the team’s Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos and was forced to sit out their 30-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens this past weekend. Oakland went with E.J. Manuel at quarterback against the Ravens, and the offense just never got it going. On Sunday, they will be facing a Chargers defense that loves to get after the quarterback, so this Oakland offensive line better does a better job protecting Carr from Joey Bosa and company.
The Chargers took on the New York Giants in a battle of winless teams this past Sunday and ended up coming away with a solid road victory. Their defense did a number on the Giants receivers, ending the season for Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall. Los Angeles never has an issue scoring points themselves and should find room to work against a very mediocre Oakland defense in Week 6.
Odds
Line: No Line
Over/Under: N/A
The Raiders should be favored at home against the Chargers, but there is no line as of yet. This is due to the fact that there is no concrete word as to whether or not Derek Carr will be under center for Oakland this Sunday. This line will be out later in the week, so head on over to Sportsbook Review for any changes up until kickoff.

Prediction
The Raiders will get back on the right track against the Chargers, as they will be fired up in front of the home crowd. This season has not gotten off to the start they would have liked it to, but there is still a ton of time left to challenge for not only a Wildcard, but also the division. Los Angeles earned their first win of the season last weekend, so they are not a team to be taken lightly in this one.
Final Score: Raiders 24 Chargers 21
