DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays is back for Week 6. This is a fantasy football column dedicated to providing value plays with high upside to help you cash in on big prizes in DraftKings tournaments.

Welcome to Week 6 of DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays. Here you’ll find a handful of players from each position who are underpriced and poised to outperform their salary. These bargain plays are ideal candidates when constructing your lineups for DraftKings GPPs.

Week 6 has a Main Slate of 11 games now that bye weeks are in play. There are plenty of tournaments offering large top prizes. Make sure to secure a spot in the NFL Fantasy Football Millionaire and the Fantasy Football World Championship Qualifier.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays is a resource for evaluating players with the best chance of finishing the week with a high fantasy points per dollar performance. Not every pick is meant to be used in the same lineup. Use this column to select one or two bargain plays, which allow you to pay up for higher priced stars.

Let’s check out some bargain play quarterbacks.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 6 – Quarterbacks

Kevin Hogan ($4,600) vs. HOU

Hogan has seen some action this season as Cleveland’s backup quarterback, but he’s earned the start this week against a crippled Houston defense that got slashed by Alex Smith last week. This game has a good chance to be a shootout and Hogan isn’t afraid to make plays with his arm or his feet. Paying down for quarterbacks on DraftKings has been the mantra this season and Hogan carries a nice floor for a guy who is priced at $4,600. A cheap Browns stack gives you a lot of freedom when rostering elite players.

Josh McCown ($5,200) vs. NE

He’s certainly not the most exciting quarterback in the league, but McCown’s only performance under double-digit DraftKings points was against the Jaguars who rank first in pass defense DVOA. The Jets should be trailing early in this one and we’ve seen that the Patriots are a bad defense. The game script and matchup are good for McCown. He should be able to achieve value on his low price tag.

Jameis Winston ($6,200) vs. ARI

Relative to other players at his position, Winston is a bargain this week. He may not be minimum priced, but the when the top quarterback is priced $2,100 more than he is, it’s a bargain. The Cardinals pass defense ranks 24th in pass defense DVOA on the year and have been getting shredded by opposing teams’ number two wide receiver. Patrick Peterson should shadow Mike Evans this week, which makes DeSean Jackson and Cameron Brate great plays. Over the last three weeks, Winston has thrown for over 300 yards and six total touchdowns. Expect Winston to continue this form.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 6 – Running Backs

Mark Ingram ($4,400) vs. DET

Maybe the hardest decision on the slate is which Saints running back to play this week. Both Ingram and Alvin Kamara should see a slight uptick in usage now that Adrian Peterson has been shipped to the Cardinals. It’s not as if Ingram can’t catch the ball out of the backfield and it’s not as if Kamara can’t run the ball effectively. My tiebreaker is based on my assumption that the Saints grab a significant lead and pound the ball with Ingram. He has a double-digit floor with 100 yard and two touchdown upside. He’s $100 cheaper than Kamara for what it’s worth.

Elijah McGuire ($4,600) vs. NE

Teammates Bilal Powell and Matt Forte are banged up and could potentially sit out this week. If McGuire is the lead back this week, he makes for a great bargain play. He faces a poor New England defense that ranks 27th in DVOA against both the rush and pass catching backs. McGuire could serve as the Jets feature back and has the skills to catch balls out of the backfield. I wouldn’t be too afraid of Travaris Cadet cutting into McGuire’s touches.

Mike Gillislee ($5,500) vs. NYJ

On the other side, Gillislee is in one of the best game scripts of the season. The Patriots are currently a 9.5 point favorite with the second highest implied team total on the slate at 28.5. Tom Brady is nursing a shoulder injury that kept him limited in Thursday’s practice. The Jets rank 25th in rush defense DVOA, which puts Gillislee in a great spot to return to his Week 1 form. Arguments could be made for the New England’s receiving weapons, including James White, but I’m high on Gillislee in this one.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 6 – Wide Receivers

Jamison Crowder ($4,000) vs. SF

If Week 6 isn’t get right week for Crowder, then I’m not sure there’s a better a chance of it happening this season. The Redskins are coming off of a bye and Jay Gruden has come out and said that they would like to get Crowder more involved in the offense. I like the sound of this narrative, but love the matchup even more. The 49ers are awful on defense, ranking 31st in pass defense DVOA against opposing WR2s. All things add up nicely for Crowder in this matchup, especially at his dirt cheap price tag.

Willie Snead ($4,700) vs. DET

It looks like Snead is back after a three week suspension and a hamstring injury that sidelined him in Week 4. Additionally, the Saints are coming off their bye, which could make Snead’s ownership even lower. Drew Brees has thrown for at least four touchdowns with at least 330 passing yards in each of his last five home games following a bye. Take that in for a second. And you’re telling me you can play one of his receivers for $4,700 at low ownership? Done and done.

Michael Crabtree ($5,800) vs. LAC

$5,800 isn’t the traditional bargain price, but I had to find a way to write about Crabtree this week. It looks like Derek Carr will return from injury after only one week, which obviously increases Crabtree’s value. However, he did score 20.2 DraftKings points with E.J. Manuel under center last week. The biggest worry in this game is if Casey Hayward will shadow Crabtree. From what I’ve gathered to this point, it appears that the Chargers defensive scheme won’t have Hayward shadow, but it’s tough to confirm. As we’ve seen, Crabtree has a two, three, four touchdown ceiling and this game could be a complete shootout. In the last three games in Oakland between these two teams, the total points scored were 59, 43 and 65.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 6 – Tight Ends

Zach Miller ($2,900) vs. BAL

In what could be an ugly game for fantasy production, Miller has a nice matchup against a Ravens team that ranks 32nd in DVOA against tight ends. With Mitch Trubisky now under center, Miller could be in for an increase in targets as rookie quarterbacks tend to turn to their tight ends as safety valves. Miller should see plenty of opportunity to achieve value on his low salary.

More from FanSided

David Njoku ($3,000) vs. HOU

I didn’t expect to write about Njoku as a viable tournament option this season, but with Kevin Hogan as quarterback his value gets an uptick. It seems like Njoku and Hogan have had a better connection than Njoku and DeShone Kizer thus far. He hasn’t been anywhere near a target monster this year, only hauling in 12 balls through five weeks. However, of his 12 receptions, three have been for a touchdown, which shows that Njoku has become a popular red zone target on a team with limited receiving options.

Cameron Brate ($3,900) vs. ARI

Brate has been solid this season, catching a touchdown in each of his last three games. His targets have increased each week as he saw nine balls come his way last week against New England. The Cardinals will try to take away Mike Evans, which leaves Brate with an even better chance of finding the end zone. As long as Winston plays smart and doesn’t try to force 18 balls to Evans like he did the last time these teams faced, Brate could be a strong bet for double-digit targets in a sneaky shootout.

DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays: Week 6 – Defense

Buccaneers ($2,600) vs. ARI

The Buccaneers showed some serious chops, holding the Patriots to 19 points last week. It appears they are getting some key players back from injury. The Bucs have a nice matchup against a pass heavy Cardinals offense. There will be plenty of opportunity for turnovers with Carson Palmer dropping back nearly 50 times. If you’re looking to save on defense, Tampa Bay has big fantasy upside this week.
