Steelers at Chiefs: Preview, prediction, odds and pick

PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 08: Ben Roethlisberger
PITTSBURGH, PA - OCTOBER 08: Ben Roethlisberger

In a rematch of last season’s Divisional Round game, the Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to Kansas City to take on the undefeated Chiefs.

After winning 12 games during the regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs earned the No. 2 spot in the AFC Playoffs. What that meant was they get to host a Divisional Round game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who proceeded to go into Arrowhead Stadium and win. On Sunday, these two teams will meet back up in Arrowhead, though the outcome will likely be different this time around.

The Steelers head to Kansas City fresh off a horrid loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, in a game that saw star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger throw for five interceptions. Big Ben initially said he might not have it anymore, but changed courses this week, and is now brimming with confidence heading into this game. The Chiefs are the only undefeated team left in the NFL, and playing at home, they are going to be a tough nut to crack.

Kansas City beat the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football in Week 5, showing an incredible balance on both sides of the ball. They have the talent on offense and defense to make a serious run this season and are playing with a chip on their shoulder based on how their season ended last year. This game is going to be a good one, but the Chiefs just may be too good to be beaten at home this season.

Odds

Line: Kansas City Chiefs (-5.0)

Over/Under: 46.0

The Chiefs are home favorites in this one, and for good reason. They are playing great football right now, and are always tough inside Arrowhead Stadium. A 46-point line is a bit high for an over/under in this game, as the Chiefs defense may be hard to get yards on at home. This line and over/under has changed a bit over the past week or so, so head on over to Sportsbook Review for any changes up until kickoff.

Prediction

The Chiefs will take care of business inside Arrowhead Stadium, which should be rocking after this team lost to these same Steelers in the Divisional Round. Quarterback Alex Smith is playing out of his mind this season and should find this secondary easy enough to pick apart on Sunday. Le’Veon Bell is going to get his yards, but the Chiefs should be able to bottle up Antonio Brown, who is starting to get frustrated with the results this season.

Final Score: Chiefs 28 Steelers 20
