DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: October 24

We’re back with another solid six game DraftKings NBA GPP Main Slate tonight. There have been a handful of notable injuries over the first week of NBA action, which has opened up some much needed value plays. Don’t forget to check out multiple news feeds prior to game lock for last minute injury updates.

Last night’s NBA $444K Four Point Play wrapped up with a cash line of 277.5 DraftKings points and a winning score of 352.25 DraftKings points. The top lineup rostered Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ben Simmons with a few value plays. My lineup was in the money despite average scores by Marc Gasol and John Wall.

Be aware of players with multiple position eligibility. Throughout this column, players might not be listed at their true position due to a lack off depth at another spot. Using positional flexibility could give you the edge to take down a DraftKings GPP.

Let’s jump into tonight’s slate!

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: October 24 – Point Guards

Elite

Kyrie Irving ($8,700) vs. NY

Irving is my preferred elite point guard choice tonight over Damian Lillard who will have to face stingy Jrue Holiday defense. Irving hasn’t had a huge game yet, but the talent is undeniable and his usage in this offense is ideal. If you’re looking to pay up at point guard, he’s my guy. Note, point guard is pretty deep tonight if you want to pay up elsewhere.

Mid-Tier

D’Angelo Russell ($7,800) vs. ORL

I might roster Russell on every slate until his price gets too steep simply as a result of his elite usage and domination of the ball. The Nets don’t defend much, which means they’re going to have to score a lot to win. Russell can fill it up and is a solid passer on the break. If he can limit the turnovers, a 5x value performance should be expected.

Jeff Teague ($6,200) vs. IND

Teague looked great last outing, stuffing the stat sheet in multiple categories. He finished with 41 DraftKings points, which was 7x value. With the weapons around him and his ability to attack the rim, Teague should be good for at least 5x value whenever he steps on the court. He has a nice matchup against Darren Collison who isn’t much of a defensive threat.

Darren Collison ($5,700) vs. MIN

While he doesn’t do much to lockdown his opponent defensively, Collison’s offensive skills are valuable in fantasy. I like him at this price, especially with Myles Turner sidelined. Collison is good for at least 30 minutes of action and is a solid source of points, threes and assists.

Value

D.J. Augustin ($5,100) vs. BKN

Augustin’s 36.5 DraftKings points as fill-in for the injured Elfrid Payton were good for over 10x value. His price has seen a significant increase, but I still believe we can expect a similar type of performance. In this high paced contest, Augustin has a favorable matchup against Russell’s poor defense.

Ramon Sessions ($4,000) vs. BOS

With Frank Ntilikina out with a knee injury, Sessions will continue to start at point guard for the Knicks. He posted a 6x value performance last game and his price tag remains unchanged. I would be surprised if Sessions put up anything less than 25 DraftKings points tonight. He’s one of my favorite value plays on a tightly priced slate.

Austin Rivers ($3,800) vs. UTA

The injury to Milos Teodosic won’t result in more minutes for Rivers, but he could play a larger role offensively. Regardless, he will continue to see around 30 minutes as a primary weapon off the bench. His shot will fall eventually and I want to be on that game. Rivers could find his rhythm tonight against the Jazz.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: October 24 – Shooting Guard

Elite

C.J. McCollum ($7,100) vs. NO

The shooting guard position is a little weaker on this slate, which makes McCollum an elite play. He has 40-plus point upside every night and has been shooting the ball well over his first two games. This game is one of my favorite games to stack tonight with Boogie and The Brow on the other side. McCollum’s price tag is $1,300 cheaper than Lillard’s, which is why I’ll be fading Lillard tonight.

Mid-Tier

Evan Fournier ($6,100) vs. BKN

Aaron Gordon could return to the lineup tonight, but Fournier’s value shouldn’t take much of a hit. He will still see plenty of opportunities on the perimeter in this uptempo contest. Fournier dropped 44.25 DraftKings on the Nets in their last meeting four days ago. He’s one of my favorite mid-tier plays on tonight’s slate.

Terry Rozier ($5,500) vs. NY

Rozier was once part of the Celtics value plays, but he too has seen a significant increase. Marcus Smart is expected to sit out tonight with an ankle injury, which makes Rozier a viable play. He saw 30 minutes of action in Smart’s absence last game and is a good bet to see similar playing time tonight. He’s an explosive scorer off the bench and can pile up counting stats in multiple categories.

Value

Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,000) vs. BOS

It hasn’t been the greatest start to the season for Hardaway who has gone 7 for 27 from the field through his first two contests. To his credit, he faced difficult matchups against the Thunder and the Pistons to start the year. His price has dropped $800, which now makes him a very tempting play. It’s unclear who he will draw on defense, but for a guy priced in this range, he has great upside given his offensive role.

Lou Williams ($4,900) vs. UTA

Williams should probably benefit the most from Teodosic’s injury. He hasn’t played over 25 minutes this season, but is averaging 29.8 DraftKings points. Williams has recorded three rebounds and six assists in each of his first two games and is instant offense off the bench. There’s little obvious value on tonight’s slate, but Williams is clearly underpriced for the ceiling that he carries.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: October 24 – Small Forward

Elite

LeBron James ($10,000) vs. CHI

You can’t ever ignore James, especially when he’s priced at only $10,000. For being so unstoppable, it is tilting to see James drift into the background on occasion. His lack of aggression over the past two games can be justified by the fact they were complete blowouts. James always has incredible upside, but the Cavaliers are a 14.5-point favorite against the Bulls tonight. Proceed with caution.

Mid-Tier

Andrew Wiggins ($6,900) vs. IND

We’re slowly starting to see how this Timberwolves team is going to develop and its important to note that it appears that Wiggins is going to get his. He leads the team in usage rate at 29.1 percent and has put up 53 shots through three games. Wiggins has been decent on the boards, which makes him more than just a scorer. If you’re going for a balanced roster construction tonight, Wiggins should make the cut at small forward.

Danilo Gallinari ($5,500) vs. UTA

Gallinari is going to have a breakout game eventually as he gets used to his new team and I would love to be on it when he does. His price has seen a significant decrease of $700 since the season opener. I don’t think Gallinari will see a very high ownership percentage tonight due to his recent poor performances and a matchup against the Jazz. The Jazz are a slow-paced offense and strong on the defensive end, but Gallinari should draw the easiest matchup against Joe Ingles. He’s one of my favorite contrarian plays tonight in tournaments.

Value

Joe Ingles ($4,700) vs. LAC

Maybe my favorite value play tonight, Ingles has averaged 30.8 DraftKings points this season. He’s not the flashiest player, but he’s an extremely efficient scorer who makes all the right plays. I’ll be on Ingles whether or not Rodney Hood suits up. He has a clearly defined role and is a great sub-$5,000 play.

Evan Turner ($4,300) vs. NO

If you’re stacking this game, Turner should certainly be part of your player pool. He’s averaging 29.5 minutes per game and is a guy who can contribute in a variety of ways. The O/U on the game is 221.5 points, so Turner should see plenty of opportunities. The Blazers have a few viable value options, but I think Turner has the highest upside.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: October 24 – Power Forward

Elite

Anthony Davis ($10,900) vs. POR

When a guy’s worst performance of the season is 57 DraftKings points, it’s really tough to fade him. Especially, when his price hasn’t hit the $11,000 mark. Davis has been a monster on the boards averaging 17.3 per game. There might not be too many value plays on the slate, but the stars aren’t priced too high so that you can’t jam a couple of them in. Davis should be part of a lot of lineups tonight.

Mid-Tier

Kevin Love ($7,400) vs. CHI

Love is the clear number two option behind LeBron this year. He’s had his fair share of opportunities, but has been struggling to cash in from behind the arc. I expect Love to get things turned around sooner rather than later. We’ve seen Love hit a flurry of threes before and a repeat performance could be in the making anytime the defense is locked in on stopping LeBron. As I mentioned, be cautious of the potential blowout in this game tonight.

Aaron Gordon ($6,900) vs. BKN

Gordon is carrying a questionable tag, but is expected to return to action tonight. He’ll likely take away some of Nikola Vucevic‘s usage, but there will be plenty of looks to go around in this contest. Gordon put up 33.75 DraftKings points in his fists contest and could be in store for a 5x value performance against the Nets.

Value

DeMarre Carroll ($5,000) vs. ORL

If you’re paying down at power forward, Carroll is one of my top choices. He is extremely active on the defensive end and crashes the boards, which gives him a solid floor. He’s been shooting well from distance on the year and his 28 minutes per game are good to see for a guy priced at $5,000.

Jae Crowder ($4,700) vs. CHI

Crowder played limited minutes last game as he struggled to get it going offensively. He should have a much easier time tonight against a Bulls team with an all-around poor lineup. He should be able to return to form with a 5x value outing tonight. Rostering Crowder could help you pay up at other spots.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: October 24 – Center

Elite

DeMarcus Cousins ($10,500) vs. POR

Tonight is feeling like a Boogie-Brow stack kind of night. The two have been playing well together this season and it shows in their numbers. Cousins is averaging 59.1 DraftKings points and is a good bet to hit 5 to 6x value tonight. His price tag doesn’t make it impossible to jam him into your lineup either.

Kristaps Porzingis ($8,500) vs. BOS

If you want to be contrarian, Porzingis is the pivot at center. His 45 shot attempts through two games make it clear that the Knicks are his team with Melo out of the picture. He’s averaging a solid 48.9 DraftKings points, but I’m not sure if his ceiling is significantly higher than that. At his price tag, Porzingis is a viable pivot option since you’ll have $2,000 in savings.

More from FanSided

Mid-Tier

Robin Lopez ($5,800) vs. CLE

If the Bulls want to hang with the Cavaliers at all in this game, they’ll need a big game out of Lopez. In two games this season, Lopez is sitting at 6x value, which is exactly what you’d like from him at this mid-tier price. He’s adopted a bigger offensive role while continuing his sturdy defense in the paint.

Value

Kyle O’Quinn ($4,200) vs. BOS

Punting at center tonight is a little risky as there aren’t many reliable options. O’Quinn is probably the only guy I’d consider given the fact that he’s averaging 1.09 DraftKings points per minute through two games. The Knicks frontcourt has turned into a timeshare between O’Quinn and Enes Kanter. Kanter is only averaging 2.3 DraftKings points per game more than O’Quinn, but his price is $1,100 more.
