DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 1

We’re back with a big 12 game DraftKings NBA GPP Main Slate tonight. I encourage you to track injury updates closely to help you find potentially profitable value plays. If you want to be successful in NBA DFS, it is important stay connected all the way up until game lock.

Last night’s NBA $500K Candy Bowl finished with a 241 DraftKings point cash line and a top score of 318.75 DraftKings points. Three players split the top prize with the same lineup, which was a game stack of the Suns vs. Nets game with Domantas Sabonis and Andre Drummond to round it out. I had my best showing of the NBA season thanks to Sabonis and a big game from Mike James.

Be aware of players with multiple position eligibility. Throughout this column, players might not be listed at their true position due to a lack off depth at another spot. Using positional flexibility could give you the edge to take down a DraftKings GPP.

Let’s jump into tonight’s slate!

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 1 – Point Guards

Elite

John Wall ($9,500) vs. PHO

This game has the highest total on the slate and John Wall is the perfect way to get exposure. We haven’t seen Wall reach his ceiling yet, put this uptempo matchup could be the perfect stage. He is average 21 points and 10 assists on the season and is in a favorable spot against the Suns who just got sliced up by D’Angelo Russell. The only concern here is the potential for a blowout.

Ben Simmons ($8,800) vs. ATL

Simmons is shaping up to be the player that most expected with his contributions coming across multiple categories. We’ve probably seen his ceiling but that’s not enough to move me off of him. He has a high floor and gets to face poor defense from Dennis Schroder. Simmons under $9,000 is tempting tonight.

Mid-Tier

Jrue Holiday ($7,100) vs. MIN

As the third wheel in New Orleans, Holiday is locked into consistent minutes in the mid-30s and is a great source of assists with Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins scoring so efficiently. Holiday can get hot and put up big scoring numbers to go along with his assists and five rebounds per game. This game has the second highest implied total at 224 points.

Dennis Schroder ($7,000) vs. PHI

Schroeder’s usage rate has been massive this year and doesn’t look like it will be changing much. The Hawks are limited in terms of playmakers, which makes Schroeder a great play. I don’t expect his price to move much this year, but he’s always a threat for 40-plus DraftKings points.

Jeff Teague ($6,400) vs. NO

Coming off his best outing of the season, Teague could be in line for another great performance. The Timberwolves have been trying to find their identity offensively with their new acquisitions, but it looks like Teague might be finding his place. They have plenty of weapons for Teague to rack up assists in bunches while still getting his fair share of shot attempts.

Value

Mike James ($4,700) vs. WAS

James was my guy last night and he had a career night. I’m going back to the well with him tonight as I’d like to grab as many players from this game that I can. James won’t go as unowned as he did last night, but that doesn’t mean we can roster him. We’re going to need value that doesn’t make us sick to our stomachs. James is that guy!

Mario Chalmers ($3,600) vs. ORL

Mike Conley is currently questionable with a sore Achilles and if it is announced that he’s out, Chalmers will become one of my favorite value plays on the slate. He has high usage as a part of the second unit and can put up great fantasy performances if his shot falls. At $3,600, it won’t take much for him to reach tournament value.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 1 – Shooting Guards

Elite

James Harden ($11,000) vs. NY

Harden hasn’t been quite the same this season even with Chris Paul sidelined. His rebounding numbers are down and Eric Gordon is taking over a lot of usage. Harden is still an elite player and can reproduce last year’s numbers any time, but it is the consistency that keeps me cautious. He’s been running the point with Paul out and the Knicks rank 28th in DvP.

Mid-Tier

Devin Booker ($7,800) vs. WAS

Booker is the primary offensive weapon for the Suns with Bledsoe out. His usage rate without Bledsoe is 31.8 percent and is averaging 38.2 DraftKings points. He’s a great source of points, threes, assists and rebounds and his matchup should give him plenty of opportunities to repeat last night’s numbers.

Bradley Beal ($7,200) vs. PHO

On the other side of the ball, Beal is coming off a sub par performance with only 24.75 DraftKings points. Beal can post a 40-plus points DraftKings points in most contests and this one lends itself to be that way. If you aren’t afraid of a blowout tonight, Beal should be considered as a part of a potential game stack.

Jimmy Butler ($7,100) vs. NO

We’re still waiting on Butler’s break out game, but his multiple category contributions give him a solid floor. Butler has a 50 DraftKings point performance in him and there’s a chance it could be tonight against defense from E’Twuan Moore and Ian Clark. He’s going to hit one of these games and I’d like to be on it.

Value

E’Twaun Moore ($4,200) vs. MIN

Moore is getting solid floor time, only playing less than 28 minutes once this season. He’s not a popular offensive option, but with defense worrying about Davis, Cousins and Holiday, Moore can just set up and knock down open jumpers. I really like the play at $4,200 tonight.

Bojan Bogdanovic ($4,000) vs. CLE

Bogdanovic played well last night, which gives him consecutive 30 DraftKings point performances. The Cavaliers haven’t looked right this season and the Pacers could use another balanced offensive approach to stay competitive. We’ve got a few studs to pay up for, so rostering Bojan tonight makes sense.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 1 – Small Forwards

Elite

LeBron James ($10,400) vs. IND

The King has 70 DraftKing point upside, especially with Isaiah Thomas out. We know what were’s going to get out of James. We just have to decide if this game is going to stay close. If so, James should have no problem dominating inside with Myles Turner sidelined with a concussion. He has a better chance of hitting value than Giannis Antetokounmpo does and is $1,600 cheaper as well.

Mid-Tier

Robert Covington ($6,000) vs. ATL

The Sixers are significantly better than they were last year and there are more mouths to feed. Covington is still an explosive offensive player with seven three-pointer upside. He’s also been steady on the boards and has multiple steal potential. At $6,000, Covington is certainly a viable tournament option.

Justin Holiday ($5,900) vs. MIA

Holiday hasn’t shot the ball extremely well this season, but he’s still getting plenty of looks. Holiday is averaging 15.6 shots per game while seeing no less than 32 minutes. There’s still no spread on this game with Hassan Whiteside still questionable, but Holiday will need to be productive to stay in this game. He’s a great mid-tier play tonight.

Value

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ($4,000) vs. MIL

MKG saw 27 minutes last game and appears to be off his minutes restriction. Playing wings against the Bucks is a NBA DFS trend and if you can do it with a guy who could see upwards of 30 minutes at only $4,000, sign me up. MKG could see very low ownership and good way to differentiate your lineup in GPPs.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 1 – Power Forwards

Elite

Anthony Davis ($11,200) vs. MIN

Davis is seeing about 40 minutes of court time and has been unstoppable this season. Minus the game he exited with injury, Davis hasn’t scored less than 57 DraftKings points. The Pelicans run through Davis and Cousins and this matchup is favorable for both guys. Davis should draw the defense of Taj Gibson who is going to have his hands full. There should be enough value to roster Davis tonight.

Mid-Tier

Aaron Gordon ($6,900) vs. MEM

This is nice spot for Gordon with Nikola Vucevic going up against Marc Gasol. We could see increased usage and opportunity for Gordon, especially if Elfrid Payton sits again. Keep an eye on Payton’s status tonight. If active, I might lean away from Gordon in a pace down game.

Domantas Sabonis ($5,700) vs. CLE

Sabonis owned the glass against the Kings last night and had a double-double early in the game. He didn’t have much fourth quarter run due to the blowout, but still racked up 39 DraftKings points. He’s been extremely efficient from the field and is getting increased opportunities with Turner out. I don’t think you’d be chasing points if you rostered Sabonis tonight.

Value

Ryan Anderson ($4,900) vs. NY

The Rockets role players are tough to figure out, but Anderson is often my preference due to his elite three-point shooting ability. Harden and Gordon draw a lot of defensive attention, which allows Anderson to spot up on the perimeter. As long as the Knicks roll with a traditional big man alongside Kristaps Porzingis, Anderson should see loose coverage.

DraftKings NBA GPP Plays: November 1 – Centers

Elite

DeMarcus Cousins ($11,400) vs. MIN

Cousins might be my favorite play on the slate against Karl-Anthony Towns defense. We’ve already seen Cousins drop 83.75 DraftKings points this season and his dominant play in multiple categories is extremely appealing. The center position is very deep tonight, but I’m having a hard time fading Boogie.

More from FanSided

Rudy Gobert ($8,000) vs. POR

We finally got Gobert’s breakout game with 57 DraftKings points and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doubled down. He’s the best shot blocker in the league and is dominant on the glass. The Trail Blazers don’t have an answer for Gobert underneath and if he can get a few more shot attempts, he could push for another near-60 DraftKings point performance.

Mid-Tier

Dwight Howard ($7,500) vs. MIL

Howard has been impressive to start the season, averaging 14.9 rebounds and 13.7 points. He’s coming off a dud against the Grizzlies, but the Bucks don’t have an answer for him. Between Thon Maker and John Henson, Howard shouldn’t see much contest on the glass and could be in line for a potential 20 rebound outing. He’s my favorite mid-tier center tonight.

Al Horford ($7,400) vs. SAC

We just saw Sabonis own the glass last night against the Kings and Horford could be in line for the same. He’s averaging 36.4 DraftKings points on the year and his 4.1 assists per game have given him a solid floor. I think we could see a big performance tonight out of Horford as long as the game stays close.

Value

John Henson ($4,400) vs. CHA

If you’re looking for value at center, Henson is a viable option. He looked bad last night, but his services are going to be needed even more going up against Dwight Howard. He’s a scrappy player who can pick up a handful of blocks and steals. Henson should bounce back tonight and is in a good spot to hit tournament value.
