After barely surviving relegation last season, Swansea again find themselves near the bottom of the table. Paul Clement’s team are 17th with eight points ahead of their home match against Brighton. The Seagulls have exceeded expectations in their first Premier League season, picking up 12 points in their first 10 games.

Only Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have scored fewer goals than Swansea this season. Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham has scored four of the club’s seven goals. Abraham has succeeded, by using his ability to create space inside of the box and getting close-range shots. While Swansea have had their offensive struggles this season, the club is in the middle of the pack defensively, allowing only 12 goals. Lukasz Fabianski has been excellent in goal again this season for the Swans, making 39 saves and keeping four clean sheets.

Brighton have overachieved in the first third of the Premier League season, with Chris Hughton’s squad picking up five points in their past three games. Glenn Murray, Tomer Hemed, and Pascal Groß have combined for seven goals this season. Groß has seen his value rise after a great start to the season. The German has been Brighton’s best playmaker this season, setting up five goals.
