Main’s Mavericks – Week 10 DraftKings NFL High-Upside Picks

Main’s Mavericks is providing weekly Draftkings NFL GPP contest advice by searching out low-salary, boom-or-bust plays destined to outperform value. As a general rule for this article, I target players below $5,000. My goal is to pick value plays who I believe can exceed 4-5 times their value (EX: $5,000 player x 4 = 20DK Pts). I will be using all of my picks in Week 10 DraftKings NFL GPP tournaments as boom-or-bust punt options. Saving on these volatile players will allow you to pay-up for superstars when building that $1,000,000 lineup.

How I did last week:

Drew Stanton 4,700 @ SF (29th Priced QB) – 15.24 (20th QB)

CJ Anderson 4,800 @ PHI (23rd Priced RB) – 1.30 (>50th RB)

Kenyan Drake 4,000 vs IND (38th Priced RB) – 17.40 (11th RB)

TY Hilton 4,900 vs HOU (25th Priced WR) – 37.50 (1st WR)

Cooper Kupp 4,500 @ NYG (36th Priced WR) – 8.40 (40th WR)

Ryan Grant 3,500 @ SEA (65nd Priced WR) – 6.90 (49th WR)

Ben Watson 2,700 vs @ TEN (28th Priced TE) – 11.10 (9th TE)

It was a solid week for the Main’s Mavericks faithful – 2 top 10 finishes! TY Hilton went off for 37.50 DK points and we were on it! Why the heck was he priced under 5,000? Ben Watson finished as the 9th TE despite a price tag of only 2,700. Kenyan Drake replaced Jay Ajayi in Miami and just missed the top 10 – 11th RB – but showed that he will be a huge PPR threat going forward.

Week 9 was a week of ups and downs. I had TY Hilton in a lot of my week 9 lineups, and he helped me to break even when poor days by the likes of Mike Evans and Kareem Hunt crushed my hopes of winning big. Oh well, week 10 offers a lot of great plays. Let’s make some money gang!

Through week 9, Main’s Mavericks has 10 top 10 finishers at their respective positions’. 5 of those top 10 finishers ranked 5th or better, with 3 1st overall finishes (CJ Anderson week 2, Jerick McKinnon week 6, TY Hilton week 9).

Week 10 DraftKings NFL GPP Picks

QB:

Case Keenum 4,800 @ WAS (28th Priced QB)

Looks like a solid spot start. Off of a bye and going up against a defense that has given up 19.12 points to QBs over the past 4 weeks (fantasy.nfl.com). It’s also worth noting that Stefon Diggs got a whole week to rest that groin. Having Diggs healthy gives Keenum one of his favorite targets against a poor pass defense.

RB:

Bilal Powell 4,000 @ TB (38th Priced RB)

I think this will be a sneaky good game for DFS (and the over). Fitzpatrick v McCown is definitely a chuck-it fest. The Tampa Bay defense is awful, so Powell and Forte will get a lot of work no matter the game flow. Forte has been a better option the last few weeks, but I like Powell’s pricetag and big play potential.

Tarik Cohen 3,800 v GB (52nd Priced RB)

Cohen’s big play potential gets me. We know that his usage is way down over his past 5 games, but I am a glass half full guy. One big play and Cohen crushes that 3,800 price tag. I am banking that Dowell Loggains drew up something crazy during the bye to get the ball in his playmakers hands.

Week 10 DraftKings NFL High-Upside Picks

WR:

Marquise Lee 4,100 v LAC (46th Priced WR)

Lee recorded 12 targets in week 9 and now has 28 targets over his last 3 games (fantasypros.com). The Chargers defensive secondary is middle of the pack. I think this will be a close game, which would mean another solid PPR game for Lee.

More from FanSided

Marquise Goodwin 3,800 v NYG (56th Priced WR)

I watched a little bit of the 49ers game this past weekend and I loved what I saw from Goodwin. He is not very big, but he can fly. It was so impressive I had to google his 40 yard dash – damn! With Pierre Garcon on the IR for the season, this kid will get every opportunity to be the 49ers version of Tyreke Hill. George Kittle is also out this week, so there are not many other people to throw to this week for Jimmy G or CJ Beathard.

Adam Humphries 3,100 v NYJ (87th Priced WR)

Remember what I said about sneaky good DFF game? I have recommended Humphries a few times and he has been a double-digit machine every time. Listen to me, play him with confidence.

TE:

David Njoku 2,600 vs @ DET (30th Priced TE)

Njoku has 17 targets in his last 3 games. He has had some drop issues, but here’s to hoping that the bye week solved those – dilly dilly. Detroit is below average against fantasy TEs, giving up 7.24 points per game to the position (fantasy.nfl.com). I will roll with Njoku’s upside.
