Packers’ Aaron Jones expected out 3-6 weeks
Things just got even worse for Green Bay as their impressive rookie running back, Aaron Jones, will be out 3-6 weeks with an MCL injury.
Green Bay is not having the year they were hoping for. First, they lose Aaron Rodgers with a broken collarbone injury, his return for the 2017 season up in the air. Then, in their Week 9 matchup against Detroit, they lost their starting offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga, who suffered a torn ACL. Starting tight end Martellus Bennett then had a mystery injury issue that led the Packers to cut him.
Now things have gotten worse for the team as their best running back, Aaron Jones, injured his MCL and is out 3-6 weeks, according to Adam Schefter.
The rookie out of UTEP was the Packers leading rusher this season, with 370 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 70 carries. To make matters even worse for the team, their second best running back, Ty Montgomery, also left the game this week due to a rib injury.
And yet, even with their top two running backs, starting quarterback, offensive tackle and tight end all gone due to injury or getting cut, this Packers team was still able to beat the Chicago Bears 23-16 in Week 10.
It is a long road ahead for the team as they try and keep their playoff hopes alive without some of their best players and it won’t be an easy one. Their remaining opponents have a combined record of 32-27, meaning they will have to really pull through if they want to make the playoffs.
But if they can win a few of those games, and Aaron Rodgers is eventually cleared to play, it could be enough.
