DraftKings European League Basketball Picks November 16
Whatās this? The Euro League? Well, yes! Some of the biggest stars in the NBA came from here. It is also a place where former college and NBA stars go to try and make their way back to the NBA. DraftKings started putting these contests out there, and due to some feedback on Twitter, we listened and are giving you the picks!
The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. There are 16 teams in the Euro League. Half of the league is in action for today. The games start at noon eastern, so make sure you get your picks in early!

The first tournament was yesterday, and the money line was at 137 DraftKings points. With only six roster slots, that comes out to about 22.5 points per slot. The scoring is the same as the NBA DraftKings, but the scores arenāt nearly as large.
The winning lineup topped out at 183.75, which is about 30.5 points per position. He used a few former college stars like Erick Green and Othello Hunter along with former NBA players Sergio Rodriguez, Dorell Wright, and Kevin Seraphin for the win.

Guards:
I am taking the same approach to lineup building that I do in the NBA games: you need at least one superstar, and to find solid bargains somewhere. Yesterday I stacked against the weak Milan frontcourt which helped produce a top 50 finish.
Luka Doncic ($13,800): I usually wont spend this much on a player, but Doncic is one of the few in the Euro League that has a 50+ DraftKings point game this season. The 18 year old Slovenian is projected by some to be the first pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. You get to play him here first! He is the unquestioned leader of Real Madrid, and a real threat to post huge numbers on any given night.
Alexey Shved ($12,000): Remember him? Shved was a backup for the Timberwolves for a few years. He didnāt get the contract he wanted in the states, so he signed with Khimki Moscow. Shved has been a star there, averaging 32.1 DraftKings points per game. His low on the season is 23.75. Thatās the kind of floor I want to build my lineup around.
Ray McCallum ($6,300): McCallum passed on scholarships from UCLA, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Florida to play for his dad at Detroit University. He led the Titans to the NCAA tournament once in his three years before turning pro. He spend four years in the NBA and the D-League before heading for Europe. This year with Unicaja, McCallum has been one of their best outside scorers. He was 8-21 from the field in his last game starting for Nemanja Nedovic. Nedovic is out again, so Iām leaning on McCallum for value.
There are other solid players out there today. I also like Nick Calathes and Ricky Ledo. Norris Cole against Khimki Moscow looks like a solid play as well. James Anderson is a solid dart throw against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Forwards:
I spent a lot on guards for this slate, so I had to save at forward. Luckily, Gustavo Ayon and Anthony Randolph are both out for Real Madrid, so there is plenty of value up front there.
James Augustine ($6,800): Augustine played his college ball at Illinois and turned that into 27 games for Orlando in the mid-2000ās. Augustine has been playing in Europe since 2010. He is now playing up front for Unicaja. I like Augustine taking on the battered front line of Real Madrid, but he is about the only Unicaja big that I would try tonight. Carlos Suarez is too inconsistent for my liking.
James Gist ($6,000): Gist was a four year player at Maryland, but signed with a European League despite being drafted by the Spurs. His only NBA action was in the Summer League for the Spurs in 2010. His professional career has been exclusively in Europe. Gist is a low-priced rim wrecker for Panathinaikos Athens. With three straight games of more than 23 DraftKings points, Iāll take him for this price!
Walter Tavares ($4,800): Tavares has been on the NBAās radar for a long time. He had six blocks in a game for the Cavs late last year, but that was the extent of it. Five days ago, Tavares resurfaced with Real Madrid because of the injuries to their frontcourt. He played his first game for them earlier this week, and racked up 20.25 DraftKings points. He is a steal right now at this price because the minutes are there!
