Only one point separate 14th place Southampton and 16th place Everton in the Premier League table. Southampton started the season with 11 points in their first five games. However, it has been all downhill from there for the Saints. Mauricio Pellegrino’s side have picked up only five points in their last seven games. Shane Long has yet to score this season despite appearing in 11 games. Despite the club’s offensive struggles, only six teams have allowed fewer goals than the Saints. Thursday, Everton faced Atalanta in Europa League. Everton spent big in the summer looking to improve their club, signing Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane to shore up the defense. However, only West Ham have allowed more goals than the Toffees. Offensively, Oumar Niasse leads the club with five goals.
